I woke up quickly, confused by what had happened. My car was totaled, glass broken and the airbags were out. Blood was running down my forehead and I went to touch it, but it was stinging too bad to touch. I looked around and didn't see any police cars or ambulances and didn't hear any sirens. I turned over and saw Eva was passed out. Holy shit, I was responsible for this accident, I had run a stop sign.

"Eva, wake up!" I screeched. I unbuckled my seatbelt and looked at her. She had blood running down her face, but it looked like scratches that would heal. I felt her neck and felt a pulse. I looked her up and down and noticed a tremendous amount of blood coming from her wrist. A main artery.

"EVA!" I screamed, but she didn't wake up. I ripped my shirt off and wrapped it around her wrist to apply pressure to the wound. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and called 911.

"911, what is your emergency?" the operator asked.

"I'd like to report an accident on Forest Road and Rosebud Avenue," I said. "Two cars in the crash, one teenage girl with a busted artery. Please get here quick!"

"Help is on the way," she started to say but I hung up right after I heard that. I knew this was my time. I had to leave. I jumped out the window of the car and just ran. It was time for me to help my mom.
