I'm sorry, I know a LOT of people have ranted about this, but it's such an HUGE PROBLEM. What is it?

Like I was checking out the top fanfictions right now (Mainly 1D and 5SOS, no shocker) and it has all these likes and comments and stuff, and this is what it looks like:

But I LITERALLY just saw a fan fiction and it sounded like it had a good plot, but right when I read the first paragraph, I refused to read more. Why? This is what it looked like:
"Hi! My name is Todd! This is Ashley Hanna Maria John Sam Wendy Peter Pan Adam Ty Tyler Kyle Kyler Spiler Skylox Desu Despair Kylie Quinn Niall Harry Louis Liam Zayn Naegi Asahina Alfred and Arthur!"
