(Y/N)'s POV

Laurens put his hand on Alexander's and Eliza's back and pushed them together to where their lips were touching. Laurens didn't realize his mistake until he looked next to him and saw the expression of hurt on my face but when they were done with their moment I went back to my normal facial expression. Alex didn't even notice my existence as I walked back to the bar to get another drink. before I knew it I had downed 7 pints of beer by the end of the night. it was time to go back and I needed help to walk because when they tried to get me to leave I did nothing but fall and trip over my own feet.

Herc and Laf were helping me get out of there without a brain injury. we were in the carriage and everything was quiet until I made it worse.

"Is it weird that I've lied to you all since I joined the revolution."

everyone looked at me except Alexander. he looked out the window.

"What do you mean, Mon Ami?"

"Come on Alexander why won't you pay attention to your childhood friend?"

he looked at me confused.

"Mon Ami, you didn't answer my question."

"Well, Lexi didn't answer mine."

"Well, you aren't my childhood friend."

"Oh. Well, that's no way to talk to the person who gave you shelter."

"Wait. (Y/N)!"

"Yeah."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"well I mean, I tried admitting that I loved you but Eliza interrupted me."

"WAIT, WHAT?"

well, the conversation ended sooner then I would have liked it because I ended up sleeping on Lafayette's lap.

-THE-NEXT-DAY-

I woke up in Lafayette's and I's tent on my cot. I groaned in pain as yet another hangover hit me like a wall.

"So (Y/N) huh."

I turned my head to see Lafayette sitting on his cot facing me.

"What did I do."

"Well for starters we all know you are a girl, love Alexander, and fell asleep on my lap using my legs as your pillow."

"F*ck,"

I mumbled under my breath but got startled when a wild hamilton barged into my tent and started yelling at me.

"How could you not tell me!"

I turned my head to Lafayette.

"Remind me to never drink again."

"I'll keep that in mind, mon Ami."

I pulled the cover over my head just to have it pulled off.

"why."

"Whatever you wrote is good Alexander. just leave it on my desk."

I pulled the covers over my head.

"NO! I don't know if you noticed but we aren't in the Caribbean anymore. things are different. You could have been killed."

"You could have too. and I wouldn't have known!"

I snapped at him. it was silent, he walked over to the tent flap and mumbled under his breath making sure I wouldn't hear but that didn't work.

"Why are you even here?"

"I'm sorry, what was that. I couldn't hear you over all the attitude."

"I said Washington wants to speak to you!"

he walked out of the tent. I got up went to my trunk and grabbed Alexander's old hand me downs.

"Should I give you some privacy?"

"Yes please. that would be nice."

I gave a small smile and he left. I changed and folded up my uniform and walked to the general's tent.

"General Washington you wanted to see me."

"Yes, Mill- what are you doing?"

"I thought I was getting sent home sir? is this not about that?"

"No, why would you think you're leaving?"

"I thought Hamilton would have told you."

"Told me what."

"General please don't get ma but I haven't been fully honest with you."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm a female, sir."

I looked down at me before he grabbed my uniform.

"Why did you do it?"

"I wanted to make sure my friends were safe, sir."

"You will be sent home right away. you knew your risk of dying, how stupid do you have to be a soldier!"

"Sir, I said don't get mad."

"And you think I would listen to a woman!"

"Sir, I'm sorry but-"

I was cut off by gunshots. a soldier ran into the tent. I'm guessing Lee.

"General, the British are attacking!"

he had to yell over the gunshots. the general walked past me then looked over his shoulder.

"Stay here."

he walked out along with the soldier. I didn't care about the orders given to me.

"I'm going out there. and I'm helping with the war."
