It's been months since Ellis King last saw the Baudelaire and Quagmire siblings, her best friends. Her family.
Although she doesn't wish to be in their position, Ellis desperately misses her friends. Her leaving was sudden and unplanned, there was no time for second thoughts. She just wishes the Baudelaires agreed to go with her.
With the thought of her friends constantly on her mind, Ellis begins a new life.
Finally adopted by Officer Grendowyn, Ellis moves in with him and his daughter Lilian.
Life there is great, but when the threat of Olaf returns, Ellis has no choice but to run.
