Another day, Shezan was at his home library. When he was having a research on the old artefacts and writing a report about them, suddenly, a book fell down from the shelf. He looked at it and went near it. What he saw was quite unexpected:
A DIARY OF DR. JEHANGIR
He picked up the diary and he saw the pages on where Sadek and Jehangir's prank was mentioned and also his earlier articles about his odd days being a careless psychiatrist. Shezan recalled everything about the problems when he also faced in the past who was bullied by kids. His father even encouraged him to be someone strong and also frequently used to talk about humanistic problems in a simple manner. Until, he saw that Dr. Jehangir's article had been published, he was unsure if it was true.
As he was in college, he was sitting, playing chess. His father arrived. He was upset and was thinking of the problem he faced.
"Dad, those people are telling you that you did something bad" said Shezan.
"I know. I may not be the best person alive. By the time, I always used to think of myself as the best doctor. But I realized that I lost my ways when in peak. Remember, son, praising yourself too much would make a fool of yourself and never look into success, look into excellence because success would take you more. The world is full of colorful people where you cannot differentiate fake and original people. This world is for no one but you at least could make yourself a place" said Dr. Jehangir.
Since then, Shezan started his journey to redemption. His heart always said Aminah would forgive him because of the way he dumped her due to the split personality issues that he was not open for. His father might be a psychiatrist but he had a gap but their relationship went friendlier when they both realized their mistakes for the first time of their life. One was chasing ambition while the other was expecting too much from his soulmates.
Back to the present, after he read the diary, he just opened his father's laptop where he saved the podcasts about Aminah's treatment as well as her past connections with his father. He was shocked that he understood and felt closer to her.
"I understand about secretly watching my podcasts but the point is, you know how to respect people's past. I know that you truly love her, eventually but remember that I told you to spend a lot of time with her? I have a feeling that you accomplished it. Otherwise, you won't ever see the podcasts and the diary itself" said Dr. Jehangir who was standing at the back of him and after Shezan looked back, he was shocked but was emotional at the same time.
Both the father and son hugged each other. The father patronized him and consoled his tears where he gradually understood the value of family and friends. Shezan might be a confident man but his emotions do overshadow his enthusiasm. He was once a student of archeology and he got his job at the research center. But he took a holiday leave due to understanding Aminah's mind diversions.
On the other hand, Aminah was having a nightmare. She was watching two different mirrors opposite to each other were kept itself scattered. She saw a toddler on the first mirror and she saw an image of her drunkard mother who exactly looked like her.
"Aminah, why...are...you...always...scared?" said the toddler.
"You are a loser, bitch!" said the drunkard mother who was smacking her sultry lips.
The continuous sound did scared her so much that under her sleep she was screaming "NO! NO!"
She quickly jumped off from the bed and was gasping heavily. It was like an earthquake that she was the only person who was feeling about it. She had no other choice but drank a bottle of water. She was struggling, fighting for herself. No wonder she tried not to live with the memories but moments. You know, young people are overly dramatic because they might be idealist but the ultra-realist are the ones who are less dramatic but can see more than a different reality.
She took a landline and called Shezan.
After an hour, Shezan and Dr. Jehangir rushed through the door. She was continuously gasping and huffing. Shezan even gave her the bottle of water from his bag. She drank water and hugged him. Dr. Jehangir understood.
"Tomorrow is your therapy. Don't worry, I understand the problem of yours" said Dr. Jehangir.
The next day, Dr. Jehangir was in the cabin. Aminah entered the door. She saw Dr. Jehangir who was wandering around. It was a mysterious moment for her because the scary truth was about to come in the scene of the therapy.
"Come in" said Dr. Jehangir.
Aminah was slowly strolling near the therapy chair. She was scared and confident at the same time. It was the clock that was ticking in the scariest manner as possible that might be trigger her to the quick personality change.
"STOP-BOTH OF YOU!" said Jehangir.
"Who are you talking to?" asked Aminah.
"Sorry, no one" clear throat Jehangir.
She sat down and had some green tea. She was sipping slowly. The scary moment was about to come into the sentence. The therapy was about to begin.
"Let's begin!" said Jehangir.
Jehangir hypnotized Aminah into sleep.
"Aminah, when you were six, what really happened to you?" asked Jehangir further.
Aminah explained:
I remember, I saw my dad who was lurking in the car and had a brake opener. He was stepping out of it. When Amelia and I were playing together, we heard a cry inside the room. My dad, Rohit was fighting with mom, Catherina.
"Do you have any affair with your ex again?" screamed Rohit.
"Look, I am only yours. Why are you suspecting me like that?" shouted Catherina.
"I have seen you and Rohit in the cafeteria!" screamed Rohit.
"For all the small talks? We are just friends!" said Catherina in a respective tone.
Suddenly, we heard the sound of a broken glass, shattered into pieces. Mom rushed out of the door and took Amelia to the car. Dad also screamed outside.
As Dad came out of the house, he screamed out loud while Mom sped to the car.
After a day, he heard a news from the radio about the car crash while he was sad, drunk and sleeping on the rocking chair. He even heard that the car was crashed on the bridge where Ameila and mom's bodies were found and buried in dad's hometown. But when he found out that the police were after him, he escaped from the house.
Thus, my grandmother who was the zamidarni (landlady) of the village, she was raising me well. Whenever my grandmother leaves home for work, my dad used to beat me up and try to rip me apart.
He constantly used to say 'you girls are disgraceful!'
In the present, Dr. Jehangir got shocked of the situation.
Therefore he said "What happened when you became 13 years old?"
