As I became 13, my father died due to the overdose of alcohol but before I became 13, dad was continuously beating me off. Until, my grandmother came and defended me from him.
"Rohit, you are never deserved to be my son. You might marry a Christian lady- a lady outside our religion, I can accept that but you killed her, aren't you? She was your wife, after all. You could have treated her as a woman. I may have rejected her but now I am realizing that you should go to jail!" screamed my grandmother, Fareeda.
Therefore, my grandmother commanded the police to arrest him. She further revealed to me that she noticed the screw driver on his hand where it actually opened the brakes. Furthermore, she was a bit of a sleuth, contrary to my dad. She even figured it out that it was actually a murder at one minute because the moment my grandmother realized that my dad was not only alcoholic but also at a state of depression when he married too early at the age of, probably 22.
After the police arrested him, I was under my grandmother's intense care. Until, I became 13 I met Amelia again and I secretly hid her due to my grandmother. When she saw Amelia, she just did not care but at least consoled me. She was telling me that I was behaving like her. But no, Amelia was there.
I spent a lot of time with my neighbor and friend, Kantu. We used to draw pictures together. We used to play games and steal mangoes from trees. From what I was extremely scared of was people who spanks and abuse children. I cannot defend, instead of that, we send them to the guardian or somewhat, an orphanage or an adoption. I even cannot tolerate old people who are ousted from home. We send them to the old home or someone who could afford to take care of them.
Days gone by, my grandmother turned ill and bedridden. Day and night, I used to take care of her. Until, I found her, reciting a lullaby to me:
Hush, my baby,
You are a twinkling star.
Hush, my baby,
I will protect you.
Hush, my child,
Never give up.
Sleep tight,
Never have the bed bugs bite.
After that lullaby, I saw her, breathing her last. That, lullaby....that lullaby, is making me remember her more.
PRESENT
Under the hypnosis of Dr. Jehangir, she burst into tears. She was so hurt that Dr. Jehangir quickly snapped. She opened her eyes but continued to shred her tears as no one was there. Everyone has the story to tell but some stories are kept secret due to the conservative world who are never open to the core of the story. Aminah knew that the stories were so sensitive that it was not about to be told.
"It's okay dear, I now know a bit of your story. But dear, you have to fight, right. Anyway, therapy is the next day as well" said Dr. Jehangir.
Her tears stopped but the ink from the eye liner turned the drop into black. The mixture of emotions do create a sense of story that Aminah was not used to the trauma. Some might claim her to be mentally strong but in reality, she was cerebrally, unsatisfactory.
Aminah walked away from the chamber.
Shezan was thinking with grievance. The unfortunate events happened but he was blind. Her misunderstood soul made him understanding the point of creating the chaos in her mind.
"Shezan, what are you thinking about?" asked Dr. Jehangir.
"Dad, I was so wrong about life and marriage. My mom died of cancer. I wish I could have seen more of her" said Shezan.
"I am aware of your emotions. I know that you are regretting things about Aminah. Can you tell me, what problems have you faced with Aminah?" asked Jehangir.
"Amelia, she made a lot of troubles. I thought, she was kidding. Until, you have told me the disorder, I started to adjust the problems of her. I got some evidence that she was a brilliant painter. I was so blind that I could not recognize her talent. If she did not have the disorder, her paintings could have been into exhibitions right away" said Shezan.
"She is lost. She needs to fight. Otherwise, world is not easy for her" said Jehangir.
All might get lost into the situation but the world is a complex place to live on. Unknown to Shezan, the world is more than a place of zigzag and puzzles but there are supernatural and superstitions as well. There are so many sides of Aminah's world that both Dr. Jehangir and Shezan were eager to explore.
The planet earth is a place of hinting the scattered parts of life. The reason that even subplots become a main plot due to a word called 'hint'.
"Strange worlds are systematic but spiritual. No matter what, son, learn to adjust the world because, it's surreal" said Dr. Jehangir.
"I understand now, dad. This is life" said Shezan.
The therapy sessions continued when Aminah entered the chamber. He hypnotized again but the graphical past, slowly came to the point. It even connected to the past between Shezan and Aminah. Some might ask, why Shezan came back to her life? What was the reason? Was it actually a misunderstanding?
