The hypnotism gave Aminah a deep sleep.
"Aminah, would you like to tell me, what happened when your grandmother passed away?" said Dr. Jehangir.
"I felt, angered and depressed. I grabbed her grave madly that Kantu took me from there" said Aminah.
"Does that pain live longer?" asked Jehangir.
Aminah narrated:
Yes, it did. Therefore, when she saw Amelia, she confused my character to hers. At night, Amelia was looking for her toy in the wardrobe. I was helping her to search for it. When Kantu looked at me with the teabag pockets, she stopped "Aminah, what are you doing?"
"Sister...sister...where...is...my...toy?" asked Amelia.
"Are you joking?" said Kantu with concern.
But on the moment, I arrived to save her, Amelia ran away.
"No, no I am not. I was looking for Amelia's toy" I said.
She didn't take it seriously and laughed it off.
By the time, I completed my HSC (High School Certification), I saw Amelia again. We were playing with each other such as marble, crosswords and jumpers. Kantu's mother saw me and just pretended to patronize me.
"What happened? Who are you playing with?" said Kantu's mother.
"Amelia, she's alive!" I said.
"No, she's dead" I said.
I was shocked that she forced me to go to a place somewhere that I was not familiar with. The whole village were crowded. I was shocked and afraid of the surroundings. Kantu's mother was acting strange to me. I was hurt and disconnected with my feelings. That would gave me the mark on my trauma forever.
"She's possessed by the jinn" said one of the crowds.
I burst out with tears while I saw some of the youngsters who were laughing at me and Amelia. There was a bearded man with an orange and black cloak with a red paint on his forehead, was coming with his wooden walking stick-it was a siege.
He asked "What is your name, girl?"
"My...name...is...Amelia" said Amelia behalf of me.
The siege pretended to close his eyes. When he opened, he smiled like a drunken pervert. I was disgusted by the behavior. He forced us to smell a pair of shoe and hit me with a broomstick. I was gasping longer and felt as if of an asthma patient. He hit me so hard that I never got to have a chance to say anything, other than losing interest on the conservative villagers.
Kantu encouraged me to run away from the village to the city with my SSC and HSC certificates. I was free.
Until, I realized that the city was the dark place to live on. It was rainy, full of alleys where the beggars slept on the footpath and wet, empty streets where neon lights stepped on. I was about to commit suicide by crossing the road because of sadness and the problems that I faced in the village. A car stopped in such a manner that she was just got a push. A woman and man hopped out of the car.
They took me to their home and sheltered me. It was no other than Mr. and Mrs. Jabbar who took care of me and supported me very much.
PRESENT-
Dr. Jehangir continued to ask "After that, what happened when you went to college?"
Aminah continued to narrate:
In college, everything was alright. Until, I met a most popular man in college, Shezan Ahmed Khan. Girls used to go gaga on him. Even they get his autograph on the back. He was back then, used to be clean shaven and had long, straight hair on the back. And yes, it was back then, a trend of a sports players who used to have long straight hairs.
It was such a time but for now, the evolution changed from a clean shaved, long haired man to a short, spiky haired man with a goatee. Trends do change, right?
I was a socially awkward and studious painter and a brilliant student. I know that I am boasting but my teachers do say that-that was my situation.
Therefore, Shezan took me to the library and took some notes that I made-it was from the Arts and Crafts subject as a foundation course. I never thought that the popular person like him wanted to be friends with me. We gradually became friends. Furthermore, we had a lot of time together.
Until the second semester, he started to avoid me because of Amelia who forced him to play cards and marbles with her. On that childish quality on Amelia, one day, he came to the field and asked me "Who is Amelia?"
"She is my twin" I said.
He understood and started to avoid me without a reason. I realized that I fell in love with him. When I was about to confess him, I saw him kissing a girl on the stadium. I was so shocked that I went to the washroom and burst into tears. I was so nervous and scared when Shezan came to the ladies' washroom.
He rushed and screamed at me "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
"I love you but I could not confess" I said with nervousness.
"You are not the girl of my qualities. I needed a perfect girl who is beautiful and stylish, not a bespectacled freckles like you. You are not my standard type of a girl" said Shezan.
Shezan was of a jerk back then. He thought of me as a friend but nothing else. I was all alone and dropped my college. I am not pleased with myself. I don't have motivations or goals other than helping people. My only source of income was that of the photography where the price was heavy. Sadek uncle also sheltered me a lot along with his most favorite students: Kamal and his friend, Chandu.
