in which stray kids remember what they did in 2018

"ten minutes to midnight, ready?"

all 10 members sat on the carpet of their dorm in a circle, looking at each other. woojin had the been keeping track of the time, glancing at the clock every now and then in anticipation. effie, nervous about what was to come in the new year, held jisung's hand tightly. she had a great year, filled with ups and downs, and was worried if 2019 was going to be the year that was going to mess up her streak of great events.

"okay, effie? i think my hand if going to go limp now," jisung laughed at the younger girl. although he teased effie about her grip on his right hand, he had asked her not to let go.

chan looked at his team that he cherished so deeply, "how about we talk about things that happened this year, it doesn't matter if it was good or bad."

minho was the first to speak after a moment of silence, "we won rookies of the year at the AAA's." everybody smiled at the memory, as effie remembered how she was almost brought to tears when the announcers had said that stray kids had won. she remembered how she was glued to her seat in disbelief as they said that they'd won.

changbin laughed, "effie clapped and thought it was another group called stray kids that won the award." hyunjin cracked up at the memory, "we had to physically pull her up as she was clapping in confusion."

chan lightly punched hyunjin as effie's face got red, "we also won best new male artist at MAMA, fans were confused as we aren't even a boy group."

"effie was happy about it anyway, she was the one to calm fans about MAMA forgetting that effie was a girl," chan added, smiling slightly. effie shrugged at the leader, "i dont really care about being classified as a man to be honest. im definitely more manly than most of you here."

"hey!"

"so," effie moved on quickly. "we also got to debut as 10 this year." the girl looked at felix and minho happily, receiving gummy smiles from both boys.

seungmin decided to add to the conversation, "we sold out our debut showcase too." jeongin, who wasn't aware of that information, widened his eyes and looked at effie in shock. effie nodded at the youngest, and chuckled, closing his mouth that was agape in shock.

"we've had so many comebacks, i'm beginning to feel like twice to be honest," effie sighed in exhaustion. it was a surprise to even see effie not working at midnight, let alone being social at midnight.

chan smiled at a memory that took over his mind, "i got help for my sleep problems, because of a very special person."

effie made direct eye contact with the leader and smiled, "i wonder who that was." jisung, obviously disgusted at their telepathic conversation, slapped effie on the wrist that had loosened off of jisung's hand.

"stop doing that, it freaks me out."

woojin warned them that there were a few minutes left to go, and effie suddenly cleared her throat, catching the attention of the members.

"i just wanted to say thank you. i really appreciate you guys," effie looked at each member carefully, as if to memorize each detail of their faces. "when i lived with my grandmother, i had no siblings, no one to look up to, nobody to joke around with. to be honest, i wanted to become an idol just so i could make money, and to be friends with someone. i craved happiness, and ever since i met you guys- i've just been overwhelmed with happiness. i know i don't say it a lot, because i've never had someone say it to me other than my own grandmother, but i love you guys. i might seem like i hate you because i'm not clingy like hyunjin, but i don't. i woudn't trade you for the world. so thank you for letting me be a part of stray kids, and here's to another 365 days of absolute fuckery." effie smiled at the boy's that made her extremley happy, and counted down from ten, every second that went down, another member joined in the countdown.

by the end of 1, every member of stray kids had joined the countdown to a new year, as they all shared a group hug between them, each silently thanking each other for their hard work.

happy new year! i spent it with my dad on the couch. actually, we missed the countdown since he was too busy trying to get snapchat open to film a video of us both making fun of my 16 year old brother for not being with the 'cool kids'. idk. anyway, i also got news that kai and jennie are dating anD BITCH YOU DONT UNDERSTAND HOW HAPPY I AM FOR THEM hbxanxzoow i wish them all the best :)
