first date.

"...close your eyes, and breathe in."

renjun and effie took a taxi into the unpopulated part of seoul, which was hard to do, considering seoul was an extremely popular place.

"renjun, what is going-"

renjun chuckled, "just trust me, effie. you'll love it."

effie heard the 'i hope to god you will' that was mumbled under his breath in anxiousness, which was extremely cute to her.

"fine." effie shut her eyes as they reached the destination that renjun had carefully planned out. "but if your 'ideal date' is to try and murder me in a forest, then just know that i took karate in 8th grade." effie held up fists towards renjun in defence.

"oof, i'm terrified." renjun sarcastically said.

effie huffed, "fine, it was in 3rd grade. but, i still remember the moves, so be very afraid."

renjun laughed at her in adoration, "oh i am, can't you tell," he then proceeded to chatter his teeth in mock fear.

effie rolled her shut eyes, then broke out in laughter with renjun. her laugh was extremely contagious, which made renjun's heart flutter every time he heard it.

her combat boots touched the floor - or what felt like grass to her - as they got out of the taxi. effie's still closed, she whispered to renjun, "can i 'breathe in' now?"

renjun furrowed his eyebrows, "you weren't breathing this entire time?"

effie shook her head, "but i'd really appreciate it if you'd allow me to do so."

renjun let out a giggle, "take in the gorgeous scents, my child."

effie smiled, then inhaled through her nose. at first, she smelled nothing other than the smell of the taxi's interior. then came the scent of something effie felt nostalgic about.

the smell of renjun's perfume, traditional korean food, and a whiff of popcorn filled her lungs in the most flattering way possible. the smell of happiness, as she liked to describe it. she opened her eyes to fairy lights filling a small, local market that lit up the area of seoul that was left untouched by the city.

effie immediately broke out into a grin, before hugging renjun tightly, "you remembered."

renjun wrapped his arms around her, "yeah, i did. you seemed so happy talking about the traditional street food at night markets, so i found one - with the help of google maps."

effie laughed, "thank you, junnie."

renjun squeezed her hand as she took it, finding happiness in her happiness.

"let's go explore, shall we?"

ahh i had to cut the date short but just to let you know, i love you. school work is really testing me this year, but oh well. sorry i take so long to update, it's just that i have a lot of work to do these days :( but i hope we'll get a free day off sometime next month - fingers crossed - and i'll stock up on chapters then update even more. also, working on an additional bts member book too ;)
