CHAPTER 14

The packed coach drives steadily along the motorway as the inhabitants chatter loudly and excitedly. With my headphones in my ears I gaze out the window, watching the traffic pass by. Amelia bounces next to me life an excited puppy, chatting away to various students.

Pulling up to the hotel, we all begin to exit the couch to be then greeted by out accompanying teachers. Pulling my case from the undercarriage, I struggle under its weight… my fault for bringing too many clothes.

“Can I help?” I voice inquires behind me.

Turning, I see Christian, a helpful outstretched hand extended.

“You have got to be kidding me” I groan.

“Well I am very happy to see you too Ms Taylor” Christian smiles. Pulling out my suitcase for me.

“Thank you” I smile with forced politeness.

His hand brushes mine as he passes my case. “You’re more than welcome Ms Taylor” He smirks before turning and helping someone else.

Pushing my way through the crowd of students, I walk toward the reception area, waiting as someone takes my bag to my room.

“Ah Charity, Seems you just can’t stay away from me”

Jared.

Inhaling quickly, my pulse quickens. Without looking at him and focusing on my room key. “what do you want Jared, I wasn’t aware you’d signed up for this trip” I growl, trying hard to keep my patience in check.

He walks closer to me, running his hands down my arms, his breath tickling my ear. “Now don’t make a scene Charity..” Jared Whispers.

My pulse rate reaching explosive speeds, I begin to shake. “Jared, take your hands off me” I whisper menacingly.

“Now now, don’t be like that.. As I recall you enjoyed my hands on you.. Immensely” He whispers suggestively.

“I think you should do as she said Jared” A menacing voice commands quietly, making me jump.

Jared lets go instantly, and turns to face Christian, giving me a chance to breathe.

“What are you doing Jared?” Christian demands angrily, a dangerous glint to his eye.

Jared’s handsome features contort into a mix of worry and stubbornness. “Back of Christian, this isn’t your fight”

What’s he talking about.

“Christian, what’s going on?” I demand, looking from Christians face to Jared’s.

Jared pushes past Christian and whispers in my ear “You won’t always have him to protect you” He walks up the hotel stairs and disappears.

Christian grabs his room key from the desk and walks off down the hall way towards his room.

“Wait, You have some explaining to do” I demand walking down the empty hallway after him. He stops abruptly before his door.

“No Charity, We’re not talking about this” He says with an air of finality.

“No. Christian, you’ve kept me in the dark long enough. Tell me what the hell is going” I shout angrily.

He glares at me, a warning in his eyes “Give it a rest Charity, I am going into my bedroom and unless you plan on joining me, please leave”

He walks into his bedroom without another glance and slams the door. Stamping my foot in impatience, I walk up the hall way and toward my room.
