Chapter 11:Not Done Yet

Thermite POV

4th Echelon's Harrier Med Bay

I couldn't believe it. All of the Team Rainbow operators currently on base were standing in the Medbay around the two beds. In one Y/n was strapped down unconscious, the other was the corpse of Olivier Flament aka Lion with a sheet over him.  According to Meghan(Valkyrie) Y/n killed Olivier when he blocked him from killing her, Olivier managed to steal and detonate one of Y/n's fear canisters and Sam moved in while he was immobilized and knocked him out. 

"How did this happen?" Ela asked in disbelief. 

"I think I know." Gustave(Doc) said stepping through the crowd. His eyes were red, he was taking Olivier's death the hardest out of all of us. He walked over to a monitor on the wall and pulled up a brain scan. "I did a full set of tests on Y/n's brain and found traces of a drug that we encountered on the DC mission. At first glance, it just appears like abnormal hormone readings, but the fact that both Y/n's and the would-be assassin's in DC have the exact same readings is impossible. The drug breaks down the brain eventually causing it to shut down but not before doing the owner's will, in this case killing Valkyrie."

"So wait Y/n was under some sort of love spell?" Marius(Jager) asked incredulously

"It makes sense." Maxim(Kapkan) said, "Valkyrie said Y/n was holding back quite a bit, maybe he was resisting not wanting to hurt her, but why kill Olivier?"

"He was in the way and Y/n didn't know what he was doing," I said simply 

"I think he might have." Timur(Glaz) stated "I examined Lion's body none of those stab wounds were guaranteed fatal, Y/n was very precise in their placement. If Lion got medical attention in time he should've lived if not for the poison on the blade." We all looked at the ground our first loss and it was by our ally's hand we were at a loss. 

"The only reason I survived was that Olivier tipped me off that something was seriously wrong. He claimed that he saw a woman leaving the base with Y/n's mask." Meghan(Valkyrie) muttered. She was sat on a stool with a blanket around her, Craig also had his arm around her attempting to comfort her.

"I would wager that would be the owner of the drug used on Y/n." Lera(Finka) inferred 

"So how do we break it?" Adriano(Maestro) inquired missing his signature smile today.

"I suspect it already has been broken." Gustave(Doc) reported "Y/n's fear gas suppresses all hormones that don't involve fear. The breakdown of the ones affected by the love drug took awhile for the fear gas to break down, but even after I administered the fear antidote the drug has continued to be broken down I think his body finally recognized it as a threat and started destroying it. Of course, we can't be sure until he wakes up."

I was about to ask how when we were interrupted. 

"Operators please report to the briefing area," Grim announced.

Sam Fisher POV

Team Rainbow gathered in front of Grim, Dr. Mackintosh, and I. Every one of them seemed distracted, they've all lost people in the line of duty before and even though they've only been together a short time they really felt a loss with Y/n killing Lion. It was their first real loss as a team and it was by their own leader. I couldn't help but admire how well Y/n did bonding this team in such a way.
