Well, this is fun. I roll my eyes and lean back against the freshly painted brick wall. I just woke up to find myself tied up against a wall of some building in the rich side of the city. I remember what happened. Okay, that was a lie. I honestly don't remember what happened. My head is pounding loudly and my shirt is soaked in blood. I can't lift it up to see if it's still bleeding because I'm tied up. I always get tied up for some reason. I don't know why.

I sigh and close my eyes. I'm so bored. I clear my throat and start singing loudly in the empty alley, "I was working in the lab, late one night. When my eyes beheld an eerie sight. For my monster from his slab, began to rise. And suddenly to my surprise. He did the mash, he did the monster mash. The monster mash— "

My side slices in pain, cutting off my beautiful song. Dang it, that song is my jam. I whimper and stare down at the bloody spot. It doesn't look like it's still bleeding. Looks dry. Who knows? I could be dead for all I know. I vaguely remember seeing sandy-blond curly hair and hearing a kind voice, but it's kind of a blur. I could have dreamt that, though.

"Oh, I know a song that I need to sing." I say out loud while I shake my head. I snort and then clear my throat to sing, "I'm bleeding out. Said if the last thing that I do. Is to bring you down. I'll bleed out for you. So I bear my skin. And I count my sins. And I close my eyes. And I take it in. And I'm bleeding out. I'm bleeding out for you (for you)."

I burst into a fit of giggles after singing the first verse. My stomach hurts from doing so; I stop. I look up at the sky and frown. It's pitch black. My brain suddenly pulls up the memories of what happened before my eyes. I gasp and look down at my wound. Volto did this. He's crazier than me and that's saying a lot.

The sound of rushing footsteps snaps me out of my thoughts. I'm tied up near the front of the alley and I'm not if that's good or bad right now. Wait, this isn't the bad side. There's no crime on this side. Everyone stays on their own side, it's an unspoken rule. We just don't do it. Except for me. I steal things and check-in over here all the time. I kind of got caught once, but I told the cop that I'm an actress and I have to act like I'm breaking in and stealing for one of my roles. He believed me and left. Yeah, that's how it is on this side. Unbelievable, right?

The footsteps get closer and closer until a pair of black shoes appear around the corner. I brace myself as the person's full body appears. That person is Aurum. Oh my God! He's here! I squeal and my body starts bouncing. His golden eyes are big with worry and his lips are trembling. As soon as his bright eyes connect with mine, a giant smile takes over his face and he sprints towards me. He dives right at me and his body crushes against mine. His arms wrap around me tightly and his scent of honey and amber engulfs me. I sag against him and let the tears flow down. He's here.

"I'm so sorry. I should have listened to you," I sob against his chest. His body shakes and I slide my arms around him. We just hold each other. It hurts my stomach, but I don't care. I'm so glad he's here. I missed him so much.

"It's okay. I'm just glad that I found you. I was looking for you for hours. I had a feeling you weren't going to be in Fred. I should have took you with me. I don't know why I left by myself. I'm so stupid." His voice sounds like he's crying and it's a little slurred. I pull back enough to see his face and gasp. His full bottom lip is split and his right eye is bruised.

"What happened to you?" I whisper softly.

"I ran into some asshole while looking for you." He grumbles and rolls his eyes. His eyes go back to me and trail down until they see the blood on my shirt. His eyes darken and his hand goes to the bottom of my shirt in a flash. He lifts it up and his eyes furrow in confusion. I look down and frown too. A bandage is wrapped around my abdomen.
