Chapter 3: Rustboro City's Gym Leader and Meeting an Acquaintance?

"Well Emolga, Glaceon we're here at the Rustboro Gym. Ready to get our first badge?"

Yue was excited on her first gym battle. She hadn't battle since she became the Champion of Kalos and she was feeling nostalgic about it. All the people of Kalos knew her and her fame. And because of it, she could hardly have a decent Pokémon battle with Pokémon trainers who are too scared to battle her, or too conceit about their skills that they would easily lose.

As she opens the door, Yue was greeted by children with an average age below seven. Children that are still learning in a trainer's school.

Yue smiled at them as one of the children approached her.

"Hello miss. Are you here for a gym battle?"

"Yes I am. Do any of you happens to know where the gym leader is?"

"Yes! Miss Roxanne is our teacher at Pokémon Academy!"

"Yeah! And she's really a good trainer!"

"She's always teaching us how to care and love Pokémon."

Hearing the different voices of the children praising the gym leader made Yue delighted. Roxanne must be a really good example to the young ones.

"Miss, would you like to come with us? Miss Roxanne will teach and show us about Pokémon battles!"

Yue instantly agreed. This way, she can easily find the gym leader and request for a gym battle.

"Wow! Is that your Pokémon?" One of the children, a little boy with specs exclaimed as he watch Glaceon intimately much to the fresh snow Pokémon displeasure.

"Yep. That's my Glaceon. An ice type and an evolve form of Eevee."

"Another Eevee evolution? Cool!!"

The children started to encircle Glaceon as they watch the new Eevee evolution with interest. Yue and Emolga, who landed on top of its trainer's head, laugh at Glaceon's demise. It was funny to looked at the fresh snow Pokémon's irritated face as the children started touch it.

As they we're petting Glaceon and also Emolga who decided to join, she heard a voice from behind said, "Stop bothering the guest, students."

Yue turn around and saw the person she we're looking for. Before arriving in Rustboro City, she had asked Nurse Joy from Petalburg City about all the gym leaders in Hoenn, like their type specialization, attitude towards challengers, style and other important info, which also includes a picture of them.

Rustboro City Gym Leader Roxanne is a girl with red eyes and brown hair, which is tied up into two pigtails with a red bow. She wore pink leggings and a small tie-like pink scarf around her neck, with a small black U-stripe. She also wore a white shirt with a purple school uniform dress and a pair of purple shoes.

Roxanne smiled at Yue.

"You must be a Challenger, I presumed?"

"Yes. I am here to battle for the Stone Badge." Yue said, both her Pokémon stood beside her as they looked at the gym leader.

"I accept your challenge. However, can I request you of something?"

Yue nodded her head.

"You see, today the class will be learning about Pokémon battles. Since you will be challenging me for a gym battle, is it alright for you if the students can observe our battle? Although if you are uncomfortable, we can move our battle this afternoon after the class ends."
