It was a long, humid, mosquito-filled trek from the plane to their current spot, as the male disregarded every complaint she had to whine about. Yet for some reason, he had the desire to end her whines and negative comments.
"What made you want to work here? Obviously, you know what things could possibly go wrong." He asked, his right brow-raising for the slightest second, curious for a change.
"Well, dinosaurs have been a part of my childhood, and I would think this job could be something I'm actually good at," Hae replied with a shy laugh, trying not to shiver at the drop of nervous sweat that trickled down her bare neck.
He nodded slowly at her answer, "That's something I've never heard." His blonde hair swayed as he turned his head to catch a glance at her, not realizing how adorable she was, which gave him another reason to hate her. Or so he thought.
"I mean yeah the movies make it seem like craziness, but I wanted to see for myself. . . Plus, if you ask my friends, they usually recognize me for my useless dino knowledge. . ." She began to ramble, not realizing she looked in the same direction he glanced.
"I would say you could just tour, but it seems like there's a deeper meaning." Hae nodded in agreement with the male, feeling too shy to say anything. After all, it's not every day a cute scientist leads someone around a park, let alone a dinosaur park.
"But I guess we'll find out just how important these creatures are to you."
He wandered up the stairs of the medium-sized cage, watching her examine it from bottom to top."Hmm. . . I'd say a dinosaur ranging from the size of a Compsognathus to a Utahraptor. . ." Hae thought aloud, looking around for any signs as clues.
"You could be right. Now come up here, these babies need a parent, and they won't have one unless they know you." She tilted her head with curiosity as she followed, her hand dragging on the blazing rails.
Flinching when she heard something, she stopped in her tracks to glance around for the source."Don't worry, it's just them." The blondie reassured her for the first time, leaving Hae in such surprise that all she could manage was a nod. He stopped at the trail, letting the coal haired female absorb her surroundings. The path ahead led four different ways; on the very left, it went east, towards a security tower that was nearly attached to the enclosure, most likely for check-ins on the creatures. The two paths in the middle split to go into opposite sides of the enclosure, as the last most likely led to the rest of the park.
"Jayden." The blonde postulated, knowing her burning curiosity for his name.
"Pardon?" She replied, trying to be respectful, but put the pieces together right after asking.
"My name is Jayden. I can tell you've been wondering from the start." He says. The female blankly stared at him, finally able to get a better look at his sharp features. Man, he's handsome. He stared back at her, an annoyed look in his eyes as he waited for her to address her name, or at least approve that she was the one he spoke to before the visit. Flinching, she came back to her senses, heat rising to her peachy cheeks due to embarrassment.
"Oh, I'm Haesook, but you can call me Hae. . . Sorry about that, I've just been excited." She replied with a shy smile, mentally cursing at herself as she scratched the back of her head, beginning to feel intimidated under his gaze. With a nod, Jayden continued to lead her to the enclosure.
"Let's put your dinosaur knowledge to the test." He suddenly speaks, looking to the left as did she, her hazel eyes bright with joy when seeing the metallic blue creatures visibly seen roaming around thanks to the large bulletproof (and dino proof) glass.
"Eoraptor Lunensis, late Triassic, believed to resemble the ancestor of all dinosaurs. Approximately 1 meter in length, and weighing about 10 kilograms when fully grown...." Hae spoke quickly from her excitement, as her bright and joyful eyes moved in his direction.
"Not bad." He nodded with approval, "I guess you do know quite the bit about them."
"Did you not believe me before?" Hae responded with her right brow raised, her attitude abruptly changing from joyous to cocky.
Jayden chuckled as he scanned his id, a click shortly following. Looking around in awe, Hae let out an amazed gasp, looking at him with wide eyes when she bumped into him, hoping he wouldn't kick her ass. She quickly apologized when he turned to look at her, watching her tense figure stiff under his deadly gaze. Little to her knowledge, his deadly gaze was in a playful manner since he already began to find her nervous habits quite cute. Another reason to stay trapped on this insane island.
"You need to pay more attention to what's in front of you. If you let things around you distract you, then you'll never be able to look ahead." Jayden said, the look in his eye changing from deadly to serious. "Now, your job is simple, but make the wrong mistake and you'll be dead as quick as that." Snapping his fingers between her eyes, a devilish grin tugging at his lips as he watched her flinch. Jayden desperately tried to hold back his laugh when seeing her nervously gulp, face, he made you slightly flinch which lead to another nod. But he had a point. Prehistoric creatures in the modern days, it wasn't a surprise that the death rate was higher here.
