Hae arose from her seat, worry consuming her. She couldn't let one injury like this stop her from moving. Exiting the room, she glanced around before realizing that she was in the control room, searching for an exit. Jayden, please for the love of God be safe. That was one of her many thoughts darting around like the people running for their lives, first going to check on the dinosaur that had fallen before her eyes. She stopped when seeing the still body, going to get a closer look at the drying blood around its head. Its azure eyes were still open, lacking pupils as it laid lifeless. Tears filled Hae's eyes as she carefully knelt down next to the creature, closing its eyes before placing a soft kiss on its crest. "Rest well. . ." She whispered, hissing a bit as she got up again, looking around. The once blue sky was now full of smoke, painting it gray. The mainland looked terrible, especially covered with scattered corpses. It felt like war.  The Eoraptors. Hae tried her best to rush to the enclosure, surprised when she discovered it was previously open. She counted the pack of what used to be five, now down to just two. The most unpleasing thing was the feeling of no nearby life for what she could tell. This feels like a war happened. . . What happened when I was knocked out?. . . Hae wondered, looking around the damaged enclosure, unsure on which side of this "war" won.

"Hae?!" a familiar voice called out. Jayden was standing there, badly injured and limping.

"Oh my God. . ." She muttered as she rushed over to help the male, both of you needing assistance to walk.

"Long story short, nearly everyone is dead and we need to get off of this damn island." He said, looking down at his leg, covered in small bites from Compsognathus.

"Is anyone else alive?"

He shook his head, "not that I know of."

Worry filled her hazel eyes, knowing that the island of her dreams soon became an island of death. She knew something like this would happen the moment she came, but there was no easy or predictable way to stop it.

"Are any of the dinosaurs still contained?" Hae insisted, watching the male limp next to her.

He shook his head in denial, "I don't think so. While you were unconscious, we had a really strong heatwave which affected the power. . ." He started, looking down.

"I see. . . Then let's just try to get off the island since any survivors might have met up somewhere. . ." She thought aloud, confused as to why Jayden shook his head once again.

"Even if we did, there are still those creatures roaming around. . . It's a 50/50 chance we make it out alive or die trying." Jayden fretted, looking back at the female next to him.

He observed Hae's facial expression change the more she began to think of possible solutions if any.  He knew it wasn't the time, but he so desperately wanted to tell her how badly he was falling for her. Jayden found someone who warmed up his icy heart, and he wanted to thank her. Yet, he refused to let go of these feelings, still doing what he had to in order to control them until the right moment. He had another motive to get off this cursed island, and it was her.

The crippled duo returned to the visitor's center, somehow getting no more injuries by some crazy miracle. The building had obvious signs it was already abandoned; damaged walls, broken shelves, pools of dried blood here and there, and the stench of rotting bodies. The lack of light in the building made it hard to tell it was still afternoon, giving it a creepier eerie feel. Gradually, the two began to separate from one another as they searched for anything important or valuable that someone else might've missed.

"This paper. . . It seems like there were codes on it. . ." Hae pointed out, not seeing Jayden looking over before limping in her direction, taking the paper into his large hands. She looked up at him, watching his eyes go left to right, then widening when reaching the bottom.

"Haesook. Do you have any idea what this is?" He looked at her, his eyes still wide, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, holding back a laugh o at her confusion.

"No. . .? Should I?"

"Probably not but this paper can change everything." He said, his eyes lighting up with shock and excitement.

"How so?" She asked, trying to catch another look at the paper.

"You have found a way to not only get us off of this island, but you've also found a way to save lives and make money. Hae, you are a genius." Jayden finally gave in to his smile, flashing his pointy teeth in the process.

"Jayden just teLl Me WhAt'S oN tHe PaPeR!" Hae yelled, trying to snatch the paper from him, her lips puckering into a pout when he moved it out of her reach.

"A location of hidden embryos. None of-"

"Wait wait. Did you say. . . embryos?"

"Yes, and I believe no one has touched them."

"Then what the hell are we doing just standing here?!" Hae finally got a hold of the paper, following the scribbled directions on it, ignoring protesting yells of her name behind her. Someway somehow, she was still faster than him when he was the one with long legs, 5 inches taller than her to be exact. Once reaching the lab, she hurriedly made her way to the embryo storage, stopping when seeing nothing left.

"No way. . ." Hae frowned in disbelief, looking at the room then the paper, back and forth multiple times. "This has to be the room. . ."

"Hae-" Jayden was close, finally catching up, "They took them?" He questioned, looking at the empty spaces where the embryos were once displayed.

"Dammit. . ." Hae felt her excitement wear off, her legs giving out on her. She managed to catch herself on the wall, putting her head back to fight tears of disappointment.

"Why did you want them?"

"I need the money. . . I came here not only because I wanted to work here, but I wanted to help my mom. . ." She mumbled while turning her head to him, her tears threatening to fall at any second. It almost felt pointless by now, both to get the money and try to help since she only had one motive now. It was the same as his.

"Let's just get off if this i-"

The sudden sound of shattering glass echoed in the room, louder thumps gradually increasing in sound as the therapod got closer. A Giganotosauaurs stared the injured duo down, not understanding why they were frozen in place.

For the first time, Jayden felt just as terrified as Hae did, scared he would lose her or himself, whoever the dinosaur chose to feast on first.
