The next morning, Hae returned to the Eoraptor enclosure, smiling as the creatures came to greet her, aware it was feeding time. She was confused at their way of communicating with her, small squeaks and chirps. Curiously, she had repeated the noise, leaving them just as shocked, their heads tilting in sync. Little did she realize she was actually communicating with them, calmly placing the pieces of meat in front of them, ever so gently petting their tiny heads. Once they had gobbled down the pieces, the beta male made another chirp as he ran into the large bunches of bushes, coming back with a small twig between his teeth, offering to the girl. With a smile, she took the stick and threw it, unable to fight her soft laugh that escaped her lips.
"Cute isn't it?" Jayden watched with a soft smile, dropping it as soon as she turned back to face him.
"Good morning. . . What are you doing here so early?"
"I was told to check on you to see how you're doing on your own," Jayden replied with a shrug, avoiding eye contact with the shorter female.
"I see. . . So far it isn't too bad, they're like puppies~" Hae smiled when throwing the twig again, hearing Jayden walk around the enclosure.
"Did you refill their feeders?" The blonde asked with a raised brow, sighing when Hae didn't respond, which meant no. She went to refill the feeders just like he told her, the male surprised when he didn't have to tell her how to refill them.
Hae genuinely enjoyed her job, as there were many perks; the pay was great, no phone calls every second, and a lot less stressful than she had originally thought. Little to none commuting, so all she had was the jeeps to get her around. No worry of rushing home to do everything and falling asleep at a decent time, since the staff had given her a small bunker room which was shared, as well as her id to get into certain areas. The main worry she had was to make sure the creatures were healthy and in the right mood to entertain guests, and change the feeders every few hours, as well as clean the windows before the park opened and after it closed. Though Hae was surprised that she was only one of the handful of employees who managed the dinosaurs, as everyone else worked in other fields like science, attractions, safety and security, dinos, and maintenance.
"It looks like he enjoys playing with you," Jayden said suddenly, "Good to know my trick teaching has paid off."
"You taught them this?" Hae asked, looking back at him, surprised when he nodded. "That's amazing. . ."
"I'm glad you can handle carnivores so well."
"What are you talking about??"
"I mean if you can handle these guys, there are eleven other spots you can also choose from." Jayden started, Hae was still visibly confused. "Basically, we're short of eleven handlers, so if you'd like, you can take those positions also." Jayden continued, crossing his arms as he kept he propped himself against the enclosure wall, watching Hae beging to think about this.
"Depends. . . What kind of carnivores do you mean?" Hae couldn't resist even if she tried, that would be ten times more than she'd be getting now. Working with more dinosaurs? Sign her up. Who knows, maybe it could even be a step closer to helping with everything; the money you wanted to earn to help her mom, actually having a job she enjoyed, and getting off the island faster with the money, even if she wanted to stay around the dinosaurs longer. The duo walked outside to talk more since Jayden knew the Eoraptors would get jealous. Like humans, they have feelings too.
