Walking out of his room, taehyung suddenly gets hit by a wall of his mates scent.

Great

Rushing to get to the stairs to pass before he has to confront jungkook, he sadly sees his mate with his boyfriend walking down the other hallway towards him. Keeping his head down, taehyung begins to make his descent, but then he hears,

"Tae? Hey tae..." jimins greets his friend shyly.

Grimacing, the younger turns around with a small smile on his face, "Hey minnie.."

"Where ya headed off too?"

"Oh. Just- just out. With kai.."

Jungkook, who had been looking everywhere but at taehyung, suddenly snaps his head in his direction.

At the same time, hearing this, jimin replies, "oh. Well, have fun.."

"T-thanks."

And with that, before he has to look at his mate with another for any longer, taehyung runs down the stairs, sees his friend, and drags him out of the door before he can ask what's going on.

Walking down the road, kai sees taehyung has his head down and isn't talking that much.

"What's wrong tae?"

Sighing, taehyung peeks up at his friend, "just- got a lot on my mind."

"Wanna talk about it?"

"I dunno.. I-" hesitating, taehyung finally asks, "kai, when did you know Jennie was your mate?"

Taken back by his friends big question, kai answers,"well, uh. I guess one day we were just drawn to each other- kinda 'same old same old' thing you hear every time. Strong scent, always wanting to be around each other-"

Taehyung suddenly cut him off, "yeah but, just because she's your mate, how did you still fall in love with her? What if you wanted someone else? B-because it's just by chance that she happened to be your mate, right?"

Suddenly stopping, kai turns to study his friend, "tae... I guess mates are whatever you make of it. But from personal experience, I know she and I were meant to be for a reason. Although I don't know exactly what it could be, all I know is that she makes me whole. Sure we didn't know each other before, but the bond that we had before we ever set eyes on each other is what keeps us together. When I look at her, she is the only one I see. I could never imagine myself with another. And not because she's 'just my mate', but because I love her. I love her smile, her laugh, her voice. The way she sings around the house or gets mad when I win uno. I love her vulnerable self, her sexy self... I love it all..." realizing he was ranting, kai continues, "anyways. Is there a reason for this question? Are you worried about finding your mate? Because if so, don't worry! I know it sounds scary, but it will all workout when you find them."

Feeling tears brimming his eyes, taehyung keeps his head down, "y-yeah. I know, I'm fine. I'll be f-fine."

"Are you sure? M'sorry tae, I didn't mean to scare you, or make you sad! I just want you to stay positive and-"

"No, no you're fine." Sniffing, taehyung quickly wipes his tears away with his sweater that is covering his hand, "actually- if you don't mind, it's not that busy out right now... could I just walk around by myself alone for a little? I promise I won't go far. And if I'm not back in 20 minutes, then you can come get me."

"Are you certain about this? I'm not so sure tae... I don't want you to get hurt-"

"Please?"

Hearing the sadness in his friends voice, kai realizes taehyung needed this time alone. He knew he wasn't the one who was going to be able to help his situation- whatever it may be.

"Okay taehyung, okay. But please. Stay in the open, where others can help you if needed. All right?"

Nodding, taehyung leans in to hug his close friend, "thank you."

"No problem kiddo"

Taehyung watches as kai walks away before turning and continuing his walk. A million thoughts run through his mind, but none seem be a solution to the problem- jungkook.

The person who's been on his mind ever since he met him. But did he have the same feelings kai had? Did he have the same happiness with his mate?

Nope.

As taehyung starts to pass a small playground, the laughter of children makes him look up. He sees kids playing tag- girls chasing boys, or the other way around. He sees one boy lean in to shyly kiss another girls cheek, blushing and running off with his friends, while she screams and giggles with hers.

Great, little kids have a better love life than I do.

Continuing his walk down the road, taehyung spots a basketball court with lots of guys his age messing around, throwing the ball back and forth. Making eye contact with one of them, he quickly glances down and speeds his pace up a little to get by quickly.

"Hey! Hey you!"

Ignoring the calls he suddenly gets, taehyung crosses his arms and starts to think now would be a good time to head back anyways.

However, he is unable to do this as he's startled by the guy he made eye contact with, who has run up to him and is now standing in front of him.

"Hey, did you not hear me calling? What's your name, hm? Wanna come watch us play?" The guy nods his head in the direction of a couple other boys who have started to make their way over to them as well.

"N-no thank you. I-I'm just gonna g-go back to the pack house now.."

Taehyung tries to walk past the guy, but to no avail, the guy grabs his arm and stops him. At this time, the other boys have reached them, and now they've all formed a small circle around the small male.

"Cmon cutie, why don't you come join us?" One says

"Yeah! It won't be for too long. Promise" another one chimes in, smirking.

"Really, I should be going back now..."

"Nonsense! Please? We just want to have some fun" the first guy tells taehyung, stepping closer to him as he speaks.

Keeping quiet because he sees no way out of this, taehyung merely nods his head once.
"GREAT! Cmon, this way"

Shuffling in the direction where he was basically being forced and pulled, taehyung can feel his heart racing,

Shit, why didn't I just stay with kai. How long has it been? I told him to get me in 20, but I doubt it's even been 10-...

His thoughts are cut off when he suddenly notices he isn't being pulled towards the basketball court, but rather to a small clearing in between the court and the next building over- it's secluded and has trees and junk taking up most of the space, so if someone were to go in there, they wouldn't be seen.

"H-hey, I thought we were going to the basketball court... so- so I could watch you play? I thought you said you wanted to h-have fun?"

Smirking down at the male who's arm was in his grasp, one of the guys answers, "oh don't worry beautiful. We will definitely be having some fun."

Eyes widening at the sudden realization behind these words, taehyung opens his mouth, "HEY, HEL-"

But his words are cut off by a hand over his mouth.

"Stay quiet cutie- we don't want anyone else to join in the fun now, do we?"

Taehyung tries to struggle out of the grasp, but makes no achievements in doing so. Hearing the guys around him laugh, tears suddenly begin to stream down his face.

What do I do now?
