Trapped within myself (book 1)

Chapter 6

I took a step forward and ran.
The next thing I know I'm at the other side of the clearing, in less than a second.
"Woah" I said out loud. I took a step forward and ran again, this time I focused my eyes, I ran soo fast it was unreal, this time I was able to see where I was going. I ran 7 laps around the clearing within 3 seconds, this speed was out of this world. I stoped at the edge of the clearing and tried to remember what else the book said about vampires,
"Levitation" I said, it was one of the things the book said.

I stood still and tried to levitate, but nothing happened, I tried again but still nothing. I exhaled and tried again, my feet left the ground and the next thing I see, is me floating in mid air.
"Cool" I said, I steadied myself and floated up higher, all the way to the roof of the house. I floated just at the level of the house and peered at the adults, I could see the others too, they were all awake and walking this way. I continued to float and watch everything, the trees, the sky and even the birds.

"Emily.....why are you flying?" Asked Jackson from behind me. I turned around and they were all staring at me
"It's not flying, it's levitating" I said as i floated down to the ground. "What are you guys doing here anyway?"
"Same as you, to work on our powers." Replied kobi
"So have you learnt how to do anything else apart from levitate?" Asked Jake
"Yeah" I said, I ran around them in less then a second and tapped on their shoulders, they all flinched.
"Woah, super speed, cool" said Jackson, "Wait, your a vampire, so does that mean you burn in the sun?"
"Only a little, but it doesn't hurt that much" I Replied

"Okay well, we're all gonna split up and work on our abilities on our own" said Jake
"Alright" I Replied. All six of us took a spot in the clearing and worked on our powers individually, and as a matter of fact, all the information in the book was true, what powers the book said we had was true, each of us all worked on working them.

The sun started to set, we all sat around the small fire, where Pop was cooking potato's, pork and chicken.
"I'm hungry" said lily looking at Pop
"Actually you guys won't be eating this" Pop Replied
"What, why not?" Asked Lily
"Because you most of you guys only eat raw meats." Replied Mum butting in, "You all sat raw meat except Emily" she said looking at me.
"What am I supposed to eat then?" I asked
"Emily, your a vampire, you drink blood, just go eat an animal or something" suggested Mum

"Eww.... that's gross" I said
"Maybe,...but it's what you've been craving this whole time, right" Said Mum
"Okay fine I'll go drink an animal or something" I Replied, using super speed I ran out the front of the main house and out the drive way. I continued to run until I was far enough from everyone, I ran deep into the bush and stoped. The sky was dark and the sun had set, I could see in the dark as plain as day. I stood still and sniffed the air, I caught whiff of something and I followed it quietly. The smell that the animal belonged to was a boar, a fully grown male boar, it was digging for something on its own. I stepped forward, ran and bit into it's neck, the flow of its blood touched my mouth and the sensation was incredible, like nothing I had ever tasted, it was better than any food I had ever tasted.

One thing I noticed, after eating, I was stronger and faster than before, it felt as though I had actually drank an energy drink that works), times ten.
I ran in the opposite direction of the house, running faster and faster.

I had an idea, if I was this fast, I could run back home and spend time with my friends. I ran all the way back home, I had no idea how considering I was asleep the entire ride to our new house.

Once I was at my old house, I could tell where I was going, and I ran to Kate's house. I peered into the window and saw both Kate and Ester talking, it looked like they were having a sleep over. I could only just hear them talking, they were talking about boys and stuff. I was about to leave when Kate said something that caught my attention.

"Hey did you hear? Emilys family left and moved into a new house" Kate said with a smile across her face. I stood there confused, why would she be happy?
"Yeah, I hope she never comes back" Ester replied
"Me too, she was soo annoying, I hate her soo much, I don't know how we put up with her for so long"

My heart began to ache, my thought were all over the place. I put my hand over my chest and gripped it tight.
"I hope she dies, I mean it's not like anyone will miss her anyway." Ester said, both of them laughing.

A tear fell from my eye, my two best and only friends, were never really my friends. They were pretending. Another tear fell from my eye as I ran back into the safety of the bush.

I slowed down once I was far enough in the bush that no one would see me or hear me. I sat down at the base of a big tree and leaned against it. I cried. They had lied to me our entire school life. I cried for a long time, and it felt like no matter how much I cried, nothing would make it better. I stood up and wiped the tears away, hoping that my eyes weren't red from crying. I ran back to the house. Everything was dark, everyone had already gone to bed for the night. I walked over to the house at the back and opened the door. Surprisingly it was unlocked.

When I went inside I closed the door behind me and locked it. I walked down the hall way and into the first door on the left. I walked in and Lily was already asleep in bed. I walked over to mine and fell onto it, closing my eyes
