I laid in my bed, my pillow was wet from all the tears and I hadn't moved an inch in a few days. I couldn't believe that everyone would leave me like that. It wasn't fair, was it that they hated me from the start? Was it that they wanted to kill me without it being noticeable? When Mum and Dad left they didn't say anything, they didn't look at me or act like I was even there. The only one who did was Pop, is Pop the only one who cared for me?

I laid still, as my stomach rumbled. I knew I was hungry, but I didn't want to move, I didn't want to eat.
"How could they have left me?" I whispered "don't they care for my feelings?" Maybe they were expecting me to leave and go on my own or something. How could my own family do this to me?

Suddenly my stomach rumbled again, my instincts made me get up. I stood in the middle of the room, it was completely empty, everything that belonged to Lily was gone. When did that happen? I tried to ignore it and went into the small kitchen. I opened the fridge and to my surprise it was filled with bottles of blood. I grabbed one and took off the lid before guzzling the whole thing. I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand, I put the empty bottle in the sink and rinsed water in it.

I walked outside and the sun was up bright and high. The sunlight touched my skin and burned a little, but it wasn't that painful, and it didn't make any mark on my skin. I looked at my skin, it was more pale than I remember, maybe because I wasn't in the sun or maybe you skin just gets lighter when your a vampire. I looked around, everything looked the same apart from the empty silence that filled the air. I sniffed the air, and I got a whiff of something strange. It smelt like dried blood and rotting, you'd think it actually smell bad but it actually didn't bother me. I looked around but I couldn't see anything.

I followed my nose to where the scent was coming from, I followed it to the tall tree out the front of the property. I looked around but still couldn't see anything.
"Hey" I looked up and there was a boy my age standing on the large branch, leaning against the trunk. He was wearing black jeans, a black shirt and a black leather jacket. His fangs were an easy give away that he was also a vampire.
"Who are you?" I asked
"My names Liam" he replied. He jumped down from the branch and landed with one hand in front of him, sorta like a superhero landing. "What's your name" he said standing up and dusting himself off.

"My names Emily" I said shyly.
"You smell like you've been starved" he said smelling the air. "That's not such a good idea. you'll loose control and go on a killing spree."
I turned and faced the ground beside me, folding my arms.
"Why do you care?" I said
"I don't." He said "I have no interest in helping a newly bitten vampire."
"I wasn't bitten." I said looking at him
"Yeah, well if your were a born vampire then you wouldn't be so dumb, you'd be fast and agile by now." He said putting his hands in his pockets.

"I am a born vampire. My Nana said that she put a spell on me to turn me human until i was old enough." I said calmly
"Why would she do that?" He asked interested. I shrugged my shoulders.
"It doesn't matter anyway, my family left. They probably won't be coming back." I said looking at the ground.
"And why is that?" He asked
"Well, my brothers, cousins and I moved in here just over a week ago. Our parents were teaching us, until my brothers and cousins said some strange stuff. They said that they were leaving to go to supernatural society, once they left the rest of my family saw no point in staying any longer." I said, a tear ran down my cheek.

Liam took a step closer and put his hand on my shoulder,
"I think your better off without them, we're not exactly big on crowds anyway." I looked into his eyes, they were red, but they were calm and kind. His hair was a dark brown, it had been combed to the side and shone from the light of the sun.

The light of the sun started to deep through the trees leaves, hitting us both with rays of light. Liam instantly tuned around and hissed.
"What's wrong?" I asked
"The sun! Doesn't it hurt you?" He asked his back turned to me, trying to avoid the sun.
"Just a little bit." I replied.
"We need to get outta here." He said turning to me and grabbing my hand. We ran into the main house. He let go of my hand and shut all the doors and curtains making it relatively dark.

"That's better" he said exhaling
"Ummm...if the sun burns you, then why doesn't it burn me?" I asked, he turned and faced me.
"Well...there's only one reason I know of, but it's rare." He said
"What is it?" I asked
"Do you have an element?" He asked walking towards me.
"Yeah......" I said
"What element?" He asked
"......um......ice." I said feeling a little nervous.

"Well that's why, vampires with an ice element are extremely rare, I've heard rumours of them being able to go into the sun without being burnt." He said turning away and sitting on the couch. "Sooo.....how much training have you had?" He asked. I looked at him for a moment
"Do you mean fighting experience?" I asked, he nodded "ummm...my Pop taught me how to fight with hand to hand combat and with a sword." I said shyly.
"Okay good....ummm, I'm more of a solo but if you want you could join me." He said kindly
"What do you mean join?" I asked
"Uhhh.....join me as in come with me......we won't rely on anyone else and we'll be completely free, it'll be just us" he said with a small smile. I exhaled deeply.
"Sure...." I said "it's not like I've got anywhere else." His face lit up and he looked exited.

"Sooo.....you a born vampire right?" I asked, he nodded still looking exited. "Soo... do you have an element?"
"Yeah....my element is air." He said holding his hand flat in front of him. All of a sudden a gust of wind came from it, it looked like a tiny tornado on his hand. I opened my mouth, surprised, he had such good control.
"Can you control yours yet?" He asked stopping the tornado and looking at me. I quickly shut my mouth and shook my head.

"Well we may as well get some sleep, we'll leave when it's nightfall." He said standing up and lying on the floor. I walked over and laid down a metre away from him, closing my eyes and letting the darkness go over me.

---------------------

"Emily wake up." Liam shook me, I opened my eyes and sat up slowly
"What is it?" I asked
"It's nightfall, time to go" he said standing up and opening the front door, I looked outside, the sun was just starting to set. I stood up and followed him onto the veranda. We waited a few minutes for the sun to go down completely before we left. We used super speed and ran far. We ran until the sun started to rise and we stopped.
"We're here" He said slowing down. I front of us was a large wooden cabin, in estimation it was probably twice the size of my old house when I was human.

We walked inside, and the smell of lavender came to me.
"I hope you like the smell, I'm kinda a sucker for it" He said
"I love lavender"i replied looking around. To the left there was a fire place, couches that went around it, in the middle of the couches was a coffee table made of the same wood as the cabin. It was a dark oak colour, on the table there was vase of lavender flowers, they smelled pretty fresh. To the right was a large kitchen, on the left and right were a set of two doors. Liam guided me into one on the left, inside was a plain room. The curtains were black and the bed sheets were a bright red. The bed was a queen sized, beside the bed was two bed side tables, on the left was a bookshelf full of books and on the right was a dresser.

"Do you like it?" Liam asked standing behind me. I nodded and stood there. "Well, the room next to this is your bathroom. My rooms just across from yours" He said pointing. I watched him point and then gave him a smile.
"Thanks" I said
"It's my pleasure" he said turning around and walking into his room, closing the door behind him. I walked into my room and looked around, I noticed that there wasn't a speck of dust anywhere. Liam must be a clean freak I thought, which comes in handy.

I heard a knock come from my door, Liam was standing there with 2 glasses of blood, I walked over to him as he handed me a glass. We walked to the fire place and sat on the couches, honestly it felt a little romantic.
"Are you alright?" Liam asked, I tuned my attention to him and nodded. We both stared at the fire and drank our food.
