Henry invited me to have lunch with him at some obscure music store about ten blocks away. I declined his offer, telling him I had some things to take care of , then headed back to my apartment.
Jordan was waiting outside my door, looking half asleep.
He quickly jumped to his feet when he saw me, his eyes were red and watery, "Cam." He looked tired and restless, bags beginnimg to form under his eyes.
"Please," he whimpered, "Let me explain."
I just looked at him, then said, "Okay," after a minute. I folded my arms over my chest and fiddled with the ends of my shirt.
He smiled wearily. His lips kind of turned at the corners, like he was about to cry.
"Cameron, oh my God, Cameron. I don't want to lose you. I didn't know you would react so- no. Ah..."
He brought a hand to his forehead, searching for words. He bit his lip for a split second and looked up at the ceiling. Sucking in a breath, he continued.
"Cameron." He looked me in the eyes.
"She pulled that stunt, okay? I didn't see it coming. She took a picture and before I knew it, it was online. I posted stuff on my Twitter and Facebook about it, and...
"Is it okay if I told them who I was really dating? I just said I was dating a girl named Cameron. I'd like to... make a vlog with you... about that. She is no longer a model for my shirts."
I stood there for a moment then said, "Okay."
His eyes widened and it looked like someone just gave him a shot of dexedrine.
"You... forgive me?" He asked cautiously.
I nod.
He seemingly teleports to me, arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me close. I hear him let out a long sigh of relief. I can't help but smile and cry a little. I can trust him. That thought just keeps repeating in my head.
"I felt so hopeless when she was around, Jordan." I gasp, "She was so beautiful and I'm just-" I sob into his shoulder, grateful for the lack of people in the hall and privacy.
"Gorgeous. Cameron she is a model. She may be pretty on the outside, but she's hideous on the inside. Your beauty radiates from within you. You're perfect, Cameron."
"There's no such thing as perfect," I mumble into his shoulder, staring at my door.
"There is for me. And it's in my arms right now."
