It was a sunny day in San Jose, perfect for the kids to play at the park or for the adults to go on a run. A morning routine for Aleli was for her to wake up early to go out for a quick jog and come back with a slice of bread that she buys at the bakery nearby. But today was a bit different, just from last night's event, she had to sleep in. She had a few drinks and might have gotten too drunk that her friend had to drive her home. Her work doesn't start until 10am, it's only 7:30 so she has a lot of time to spare. Her cat has other plans for her tho. The gray Siberian cat got up from his newly bought bed and stretched his body, clawing the carpet that was now slowly becoming a small hole. He checked to see his owner who was still snoring in her sleep, he walked towards the kitchen and jumped up the island. Seeing that the glass she used from last night was still there, he pushed it off the high counter making Aleli open her eyes. She got up and almost hunch in pain, her head was throbbing. She heard her cat meow outside her room so she stood up. Shaking off the negative energy she had and rearranging the crystals by her window. Her feet padded on the carpet as she tied her hair up revealing her sun tattoo on her nape, she got it 2 years back after graduating high school. She groaned when she saw what shattered.
"Severus!" She exclaims, "If you're gonna wake me up, you didn't have to break anything," she said as she looked for a broom to sweep the broken glass away. Severus was busy licking his paw. He just watched his owner clean up the mess he made, it's always like that.
Once she was finished cleaning, she checked the time and saw that it would take her much time if she did a complete morning routine today. Aleli then decides to skip the jog and just go straight to having breakfast. She cooked herself eggs and toasted some bread at the same time, she made herself some hot chocolate drink since she can't handle the caffeine of coffee, it gives her palpitations.
Severus waits by his bowl and stares at his owner impatiently. He started meowing once Aleli didn't give him any attention. She looked at him and glared, "You're so high maintenance," she grumbles.
He meowed back and waited still. She opened one canned food for Severus and dumped it in his bowl. He didn't eat it immediately. He watched Aleli go around the kitchen and when she was finally prepared to eat, Severus joined her. They have this love and hate relationship going on ever since Aleli found him at a shelter. He used got some parts of him burnt during the fire from the accident last year so up until now he was healing, he has his scars by the tail, bum, and left paw. She took good care of him, but sometimes, he's just annoying to the point where Aleli thought he's a man trapped inside a cat's body.
After breakfast and cleaning up, She went to the bathroom to get some Ibuprofen for her headache. Walking back to her room, she went through her closet. She has a lot of clothes but her go to would be her black jeans and black high cut converse, the top varies. Today, she felt like she'd be wearing a loose ACDC shirt.
She made sure that Severus had everything he needed before she left the house. It's a small house compared to the other houses in the neighborhood, it doesn't bother her since she bought it with her own money. At least she has her own place even if she's not working a prestigious job. She only had to ride her bike towards the shop she works at since it's near the neighborhood. She passed the streets and saw some familiar faces, saying good morning and hello to them since they were all friendly. Maybe because they knew that she's a practicing witch and that they thought witches were still like the old ones where they own a big cauldron, talking cat, alive broom stick and a short temper that even just one small tick would make them cast a spell unto the person that triggered them. Well that's not how Aleli is, and those kind of witches aren't real.
She stops in front of the store and got off her bike before walking out back, that's where she places her 'small use of transportation' as she calls it. Aleli takes a deep breath and closes her eyes, taking in the environment for a moment before going in. She instantly saw her co-workers getting the place ready. The blonde guy named Luke smiles at her, she smiled back.
"Smiling as if you weren't drunk huh?" He asks as he puts the chairs down from the tables. His apron tightly tied around his torso.
"Of course, I have to pretend that I'm not drunk in front of the people later while I belch out my singing voice," she chuckles.
"Shut up and just help me with the chairs," he shakes his head with a smile on his face. He walks towards the big doors and opened it, leading them to a garden that had tables and chairs, there wasn't any proper roof which made it hard for them when it rains. This is where Aleli performs the songs on the top charts, sometimes her own songs if she feels like it.
"Is Ichiro in yet?" She asks as they cleaned the place.
"Not yet," Luke said as he pushes quiff back in place. "If he's here, we'll know."
They heard some of their coworkers snicker making Luke look at Aleli, "He's here."
"He's such a playboy," Aleli said.
"How can you say that?" Luke chuckles.
"I've seen him with a couple of girls already," she shrugs "some are even older than him."
"We can't blame him, Aleli. It's his life," he said and pats her shoulder.
"Aleli," Ichiro calls making her look at him. "There will be special guests later so please make a set list for them. It would be two artists."
"Really? Who?" She smiles in excitement. He raised his eyebrows and clears his throat before looking at his watch.
"Just do what I say," he said before going back to his office.
