Naomi
I woke up the next morning feeling well rested. I swear going to sleep high is the best sleep. I showered and put on my school uniform, which consisted of a white button up and a grey jeans. I wore thigh high black boots to match my black infinity scarf. I let my hair hang loose, which fell to the middle of my back. I put on mascara, which Key had taught me, and clear lip gloss. I grabbed my large purse and walked out of my room.
"Good morning." I said to Ray, who was sitting down on the couch in the living room playing 2k.
"Good morning, you ready to go?" He asked.
"Yeah."
"Alright, give me five minutes." Ray said with his eyes glued to the screen.
"You're gonna make me late, guardian." I mocked him.
"Do you know who you're speaking to. I'm Ray Junius Parker. You ain't gon be late."
I laughed and sat down next to Ray. After a couple minutes, Ray got up and put on his hoodie. "Hurry up, you gonna be late!" He rushed out the door. I rolled my eyes and put on my coat before following him to his car.
"Here's the key. If you come home right after school I won't be here because I have work. And here's some cash in case you need something." Ray handed me a key to the house and $100 once we were inside of his car.
"Work? You finally stopped dealing ?"
"Something like that. I got promoted. I'm not on the streets dealing no more." Ray said.
I frowned. I wish that Ray could quit that business altogether. "So what are you doing now?"
"I'm more on the logistics side of things." Ray said with a straight face.
I know this nigga did not just say logistics...
I didn't say anything for the rest of the ride.
At school
"Have a nice day at school. Learn something!" Ray laughed as I opened the car door.
I rolled my eyes at him and walked into the building. Instead of going to class, though, I texted Key.
I'm at school, where you at?
Come around back at the parking lot.
When I reached the parking lot, Key was sitting in her boyfriend's car. This time, he wasn't there and she was driving.
"Hey boo!" Key gave me a hug when I got in the car.
"Hey girl!" I said before buckling up my seatbelt.
"You brought extra clothes?" She asked.
I unbuttoned my white uniform shirt and underneath was a black graphic tee. I took off the uniform shirt and put it in my bag. My grey jeans and black boots went perfectly with the shirt so no one could tell I was supposed to be in school.
"Ta da!" I laughed.
Key buckled up her seatbelt, and we left school grounds.
"Soo...wassup with you and Blue?" I asked bluntly. I had just remembered that I wanted to ask Key about that.
"Between me and you...that's my little boo. He gives me free weed and liquor whenever I want, and I satisfy him whenever he wants." Key stuck her tongue out.
My eyes grew wide. "You're a mess! Why don't you break up with your boyfriend? You don't seem that into him...not as much as you do with Blue."
Key scrunched up her face. "Because he lets me drive his car, and he spoils me with dates and gifts."
