Naomi

8 weeks later

Although it had only been about two and a half months, Key and I were starting to get really close. She was the only one at school I had opened up to about my mom, even though she already knew from the rumors roaming around school. What I loved most about Key is that she's such a happy spirit and doesn't have a judgmental bone in her body.

"Naaaa!" Key whined on FaceTime.

"Wassup, Key?" I smiled. Key's presence always lightened up my day.

"Come with me to this party tonight." Key gave me pleading eyes.

"You know I don't do parties. I'm all quiet and shit."

"Pleaseee. Plus, you've never been to one. At least come to one with me."

Remember when I told y'all Key gets everything she wants?

 I sighed. "Fineee."

"Thank you!" She said with a high-pitched voice.

"What time I gotta be ready?" I asked.

"9 PM."

It was currently 7:30PM. I looked in my closet and drawers to try to find an outfit. I decided on blue ripped jeans, a black crop top and black vans. I got in the shower and got dressed. I combed my hair and decided to put it up into a bun. I wasn't bout to sweat out my hair at this dumb party.

By time 9 came, I was walking down the steps towards the front door. Key pulled up as soon as I put my hand on the door knob.

"Oh my gosh, you look cute!" Key bounced around in her seat. She was wearing a red faux leather camisole fitted dress with black bootie heels and a face full of makeup. Her hair was in a curly puff on top of her head.

"Thanks boo, I feel like I'm dressed too simple compared to you."

"Nah, you know I gotta be on a thousand all the time." Key laughed before pulling out her red lipstick.

Her boyfriend drove us to the party. He was never too fond of Key going to parties, but he felt a little better knowing that I was there with her.

After about fifteen minutes Key spoke up. "This is it, pull up right here."

"Alright, call me when you want me to come pick y'all up." Key's boyfriend, Damion, said to Key.

"Okay, love you." She gave him a peck before getting out the car.

Key and I walked up towards the venue and was greeted by a long ass line.

"We gotta stand in this welfare line?" I looked at Key.

"Do you know who I am?" Key asked offended. She grabbed my hand and walked pass the line to security.

"We're on the list. Key plus one."

The security checked the list before moving out the way so we could enter the venue.
