What Is STUDYING?
1) To devote time and attention for the purpose of gaining more knowledge.
2) To look closely at, in order to observe or read.
3) It is to take into account.
Day in and day out, we study a lot of things both consiously and unconsciously. Most of us can account the full life story of our best celebs. We know their age, their history, their best and worst moments,, their rise and their fall, their likes and dislikes, their hobbies and talents, their favourite designers, their best outfits, and so much more about them.
Why is this so? Its because you have studied them.
What Is GOD'S WORD?
1) It is the direct words of God Himself.
2) It is the written will of God.
3) It is God Himself.
What Does It Mean To Study GOD'S WORD?
1) It is to spend time searching the scriptures.
2) It is to devote your attention in getting the knowledge of God's word.
3) It is to observe the content of the scriptures with understanding.
4) It is to seeek the voice of God through His word.
5) It's to be able to give accounts of the word of God.
6) It is to possess it inside you.
Some of us know the likes of Benny Hinn, Morris Cerullo, Kathryn Kuhlman, etc. and we really get amazed by their stories. We may even wish to be like them but we're not ready to pay the sacrifice of being like them.
As for those who don't know them, or won't want to be like them, its alright. But that's never and excuse not to study the word of God. Afterall, God's word weren't prescribed for Pastors only.
Benefits of STUDYING GOD'S WORD
1) The word of God contains solutions to every problem of life therefore studying it will reveal the solutionto the ones you face.
2) It clears all doubt concerning pleasing God as it guides you on pleasing God.
3) It is a tool for our spiritual warfare against the enemies. Knowing it, studying it makes it becomes a weapon that makes us victorious.
4) It reveals the mystery of God to an extent, therefore giving us a knowledge of God
Beloved, there are many more reasons for studying the word, therefore study it, eat on it and let it become a part of you.
