**Sunday**
I slam the front door open aggressively. Nate gets up off of his knees and follows me into my house. I toss my purse, dress, and heels across the hardwood floor. I turn around, arms crossed waiting for him to speak.
He hesitates with his head down as if trying to find the right words.
I narrow my eyes at him. "What the fuck do you have to say?"
He looks up at me, taken back by my harsh behavior. Usually I am the one that is so passive, calm and collected but I can't control my anger. It is building inside of me and the gym obviously didn't help tame my aggression. What does he expect? I know the things I did with Kale last night make me no saint in response to Nate's actions. It doesn't change what I saw and felt. In my defense, the deeds done were a total domino effect from his huge slip up!
He slowly comes closer to me and I keep inching back not wanting to make physical contact.
"We are safe at this distance Nate. Just say what you have to say then I will go collect my things from your house and we will be co-workers. Nothing more, nothing. I don't want your lame ass excuses if that's what you came for!" I stand my ground as he stops in his tracks.
"I waited for you all night and blacked out in front of your house. This is driving me crazy Halston! I refuse to lose you! I won't! I swear to you that Paisley is nothing to me. My trainer invited her to the party not knowing how psychotic she is and how I had told her to leave me alone. She fucking drugged me!"
I shake my head in disbelief until he continues. "I didn't even know what I was doing and I had no control. She took advantage of me Halston! Fuck! I know it sounds insane but it's the truth. She admitted to drugging me with a substance called GHB. She slipped it into my drink and I couldn't restrain myself shortly after, which is what you walked in on. I wouldn't touch that whore if I was sober!"
With a shaky hand, he holds out the infamous ring. "Please take it and please be with me. I need you, I want you and I can't live without you!" He holds the gaze in my eyes. I really can't tell if he is toying with me. I feel a painful stabbing at my chest not knowing if he is lying.
I stay quiet, trying to read him. He starts pacing my living room and then comes face to face with me. I look down unable to function or make eye contact. I have so much pent up fury in me but no emotional release and am purely numb to his pleading right now.
"Look at me baby. Please!" He bends down on his knees to grovel. He wraps his arms around my waist physically begging me not to leave him, without saying a word. I can feel his tears percolating down my leg. It breaks my heart to see him this way even though my gut is telling me to let him rot in Hell. I place my left hand on the back of his head to give him the support he doesn't deserve. He attempts to grab my hand and slip the ring back on but I reject his advance and push his hand away.
"I can't Nate. I need time away from you! I don't know what in the fuck is going on! You shattered me when I confided in and trusted you! Do you know how hard that was for me? As much as I resisted the urge to let you in, I finally gave into you and your games. I submitted myself to you and supported you. I feel like you took me for granted and preyed on my weaknesses. I was never enough for you Nate!" Tears start trailing down my cheekbones as he looks up at me.
He gets up and cups my face with his hands but I try and pull them away, unsuccessfully. "It wasn't my fault babe!"
I close my eyes, unable to hold his sad gaze any longer. I start to nervously nibble on my bottom lip and can taste the salty drops as they drizzle down to my mouth.
