Being with Nate has been surreal over the past few weeks. He gets anything I need or want and is at my beck and call. He seems so overjoyed about having our baby. I believe he will be a great father and has been nothing but sweet to me. Although, I hear him with Jeff at times and it seems like he has a temper with some things. I am fortunate that the anger has never been directed toward me. I try to stay away from Paisley as much as possible when she is around. I still catch her dirty glares and the subtle rude jabs she throws at me. There is still no word from Beck, Chris and Kale which disturbs me deeply. I want to leave this house sometimes to go and confront them all for not contacting me. I just don't fucking get it!! Mayvbe they are mad about Nate and I and us having a baby together?I also just want to get out and consume the fresh air and be around other people. I need some sense of independence! My life has turned into the God damn Brady Bunch for fucks sake! Nate hasn't let me leave the estate grounds...not until today. I begged him and he agreed that we can go shopping and walk around in town. Baby steps, I suppose, after everything that has happened. I am so excited to go and spend some time out with my soon to be husband!Nate walks into the bedroom and gives me a kiss then steps back with a smile. "Ready babe?"
"Yes! I am so stoked to get out!"
"Me too. One thing though: Paisley and Jeff are coming along. They have some things they need to do as well."
I sigh and roll my eyes. "I guess."
Nate grabs my hand and pulls me along through the house then outside to the Range Rover. "What ever happened to your Mercedes?"
Paisley and Jeff are already outside waiting and look at Nate to answer. "This is more practical for a family so I got rid of it."
I accept his answer and we all get into the SUV and head into town. Nate parks in front of a small boutique and we get out in silence. Awkward!
I turn to Nate. "So what's first on our agenda? Hopefully it will be just me and you." I glare at Paisley as she rolls her eyes.
Nate wraps his arm around my waist. "Don't worry babe. We will get our alone time."
I look at Paisley and it looks like fumes are exuding from her head. I look back at Nate and kiss his cheek. "Sounds good."
The four of us go through a few shops looking at various items. I start looking at the baby clothes and furniture and it starts hitting me that I am going to need these things soon. I place my hand on my stomach realizing this is very real. A tiny baby is growing inside of me and in about seven months, I will be a mother.
Nate comes up to the back of me and wraps his arms around me, placing his hands on top of mine on my stomach. "I love you both, Halston." He kisses the back of my head. "Exciting, isn't it?"
"It is. It's just hard for me still to take everything in without remembering over a month of anything that happened. I just wake up one day and I'm already five weeks pregnant. I'm happy but scared, I guess." I lower my head, looking down at my stomach.
"Babe, we got this. I have always made you happy. Just remember that. You don't need to remember anything else because we are perfect together and we are about to have a new addition to our family."
I turn around to look into his dark eyes. "Thank you for reassuring me. I love you, too."
Hand in hand, we exit the store with Paisley and Jeff behind us. Nate's phone starts vibrating so he takes it out of his jeans pocket and looks at the caller. He lets go of my hand and looks at me. "I will be right back babe. I have to take this call. Stay here. Jeff, c'mon!" He walks down to the corner and around the side of a building, leaving me with Paisley.
