"So, when are you going to tell me about what happened to our parents? You've been lying to me all these years, I think I deserve to know the truth!" Bella said while Alex closed the front door. He had ordered pizza since he was too worn out to cook for his little sister. That was all she had asked about since they had gotten home. But, he hadn't had the time to tell her. They had to find a place for Emma to stay, which ended up being the guest bedroom in Izayay's house. He also went back to the Great Forest of Suibom to put out the fire that used to be their treehouse. He had also dropped off his friends back at their homes, all the while, Bella trailing behind, asking him questions.

"Please...let's just...eat right now. I can explain once we-"

"No, Alex! You keep saying once we're done with whatever we're doing! Please!" She shouted. Alex opened the pizza box and took out a slice of pepperoni pizza. Bella slapped the pizza out of his hand.

"Hey!" He shouted.

"Tell me! You said you would tell me! You told me that mom and dad abandoned us! You've been lying to me for seven years! All my life, I thought that I wasn't wanted by my parents! Now, tell me!" She shouted, laying across the table so her brother couldn't get anymore pizza.

Alex gave his sister a cold glare before sighing. He looked his sisters in the eyes and said. "Our parents did abandon us, but, they had a reason."

"What kind of reason would they need to abandon us!?" Bella said, still angry with her brother.

"The Light needed them." Alex said.

"The Light? What's that?" Bella asked, calming down a bit.

"I can't tell you. One: You aren't old enough. Two: Even I don't know much about the light. Just how mom and dad needed to go for some mission, and never came back. I know that they left because it was important, so important, that they had to leave us, knowing that they might not return."

"But why did they-"

"It was obviously for a very serious reason, Bella!" Alex shouted, standing up from his chair. Bella looked at him, surprised. She sat up on the table, her legs criss cross. He sat back down. "I don't know everything, Bella, but I know that they had to have left for a very...very important reason. Much more important than us."

Bella looked down in shame. She now felt bad about bugging her brother so much for answers when he hardly had any. Her brother looked tired. He probably really was, especially after everything that had happened that day. He had explained to her, Rose-ann, George, and Joey what had happened, with help from his friends of course.

Bella took a slice of pizza, not taking a bite. She gave it to her exhausted brother. He gladly took it and ate it. She grabbed another slice and ate it herself. After their first few slices, Alex put away the rest of the pizza in a container in the fridge. Without being told, Bella went up the stairs while her brother cleaned the kitchen. She changed into her green-striped pajamas and took out her two ponytails, letting her orange curly hair fall onto her back. She went to brush her teeth when she heard her brother downstairs.

"Bella? Bella!? Where'd you go!?" He called. She could hear him rushing around downstairs.

"I'm getting ready for bed, Alex!" Bella called. Her brother ran into the bathroom while she continued to brush her teeth. "Hi." She said, casually waving at her brother. That's when she noticed his face was tear stained. "Alex?"

"Yeah, sis?"

"Were you crying?" She put down her toothbrush, walking over to her bedroom. He lifted his hand to his face, feeling the tear stains on his fur.

"Oh, uh, maybe." He said quietly. Bella held her brother's hand and led him to her room. She got in her bed, pulling her green and orange covers over her body. Alex sat on the bed. "You all ready?" He asked.

"Not yet." She said, sitting up. She threw her arms around her brother's neck, hugging him. He froze a second before hugging back. "You know, you don't have to worry about me all the time." She whispered.

"I do! Especially with the Master on the loose." He said, squeezing his sister tighter. She laid her head on his shoulder, feeling sleepy. "I just...I can't lose you." He whispered. She gave him a squeeze before pulling away from the hug.

"Alex-" She was about to protest about his protection over her, but Alex cut her off.

"No, Bella! I lost mom and dad, I.....I-I can't lose you..." Tears were streaming down his cheeks, once again. "And I won't lose you." He said.

Bella held her brother's hand. "I'm not going anywhere!" She said, trying to sound cheerful. "I'm not going anywhere...other than to bed." She said, beginning to lay down. Alex wiped his eyes.

"Yeah. Now, are we ready?" He said, getting up off the bed.

"Yep! Go get some sleep, big bro. You deserve it." Bella said, laying her head on her pillow. Alex smiled and turned off her lamp on the nightstand. He left the room, leaving the door cracked open. He went to his room, which was right next to his sister's. He sat on his bed, turning on the reading lamp on the desk next to his bed. There was mostly homework on the desk. He dumped the schoolwork in his trash bin.

He pulled open a drawer, revealing old drawings and photos. Most of them were of Bella growing up. Some were photos of him and his friends. There was a really nice photo of Cairry. But, that wasn't what he was looking for. He pulled out the drawer and planted to onto the desk, searching through the pictures. He finally found what he was looking for. It was a photo of his parents, holding a tiny baby cheetah with curly orange hair and shiny purple eyes. It was Alex and his mom and dad. The photo had been taken when he turned one-year old. He smiled at the sight of the photo.

He then walked over to his bookcase and removed some books. He reached towards the back, finding the flashlight. He shined the unusual flashlight on the photo, radiating a beam that was a mix of red and yellow. The letter written on the picture glowed. He read it.

Alex, we know you'll find us one day once you unlock your powers, but please, do not drag your sister into this. She is valuable. Please, don't make the same mistake we did with you. Don't bring her into this. Make sure she won't join the light. Don't tell her that we'll live. Tell her we're gone, and that we love her, and you.

"I promise. I promise to find you...and I promise to keep Bella out of this as best I can." He said, regretting telling his sister about The Light.
