Soulmate AU
John Seed x Deputy

You were scared- no, you were horrified. You had woken up today and your head was banging from the grayscale colours in your eyes. Your hands yanked against the restraints of the bed, but you were only relieved when the old man let you leave the bunker on your own. Your first mistake was choosing to go to Holland Valley first.
You knew something was up in that place and as you liberated Fall's End your body shuddered.
Your second Mistake was liberating Seed Ranch.
John came after you as if you were a beast to be slew. Your hands shook when you heard his men shouting nearby, bullets whizzing through the window everytime you dared to peak over and see if they were gone.
When you peaked a fourth time you got hit right in the neck and you went down without another word. Waking up was hard, water covered your vision as your hand shot up and you tried to shove whoever was on you off. You began struggling as hard as you could before they pulled you up and and you coughed out water and breathed, you were panting a good bit, but your nerves shot through the roof when you were brought face to face with John Seed, the one person you didn't want near you,
"No. Not this one. This one's not clean."
He grabbed you
and colours bursted to life. He must've been seeing it too because his eyes widened at you.
You both just stared at each other before he shoved you under the water, your hands shot up trying to stop him, and they found his shoulders and they latched on as he pulled you back up and you gasped as he looked down at you, teasing you and telling you to shush before beginning to push you under again, only to be stopped when the Father's voice filled both of your ears. John growled slightly as he stood you up and you proceeded to cough and choke on the water that was in your system.
Your eyes refused to leave John's face, even when Joseph pressed his forehead to yours, your eyes only stayed on John. He noticed and he took to kind of pressing his hand on your cheek as he stared, "You're not going back to the resistance." and you knew he meant that as his grip tightened on your arms. You could only nod out of fear of him and your body telling you to do as he wishes. So you do. You take the towel from him gladly and you sit in his slim black car like your told. He takes a minute to speak to his men before getting in and putting the radio on a low setting as he drove, "You have caused me a good bit of problems, Dep." You just stared at him before croaking out an apology. Your voice didn't seem important to what you were doing here, so you stayed quiet most of the time, and because of that your voice was raw and it hurt to speak, so you went quiet again.  He glanced over at you and huffed in a way, smirking to himself, because he knew that you wouldn't want to go back to living a grey life- so you wouldn't murder him. He could see you shivering as he pulled into the parking lot of the bunker and you got out when he told you to. You had no weapons and by now you were questioning if John was a bad man. You found yourself so quickly resting in his bed. Your hair drying still as he watched you, wondering what he was going through your head. His weight on the bed made you open your eyes, watching him through tired eyes,
"Do others experience whatever that was?" Your voice was weak as you spoke before he nodded,
"Yes, other people experience that too..." he stared at you with a look that said he wanted to eat you alive, "You see, Deputy... meeting your lover is a fate, I don't have to be your friend, but  loving you is out of my control." You stared at him, "But do you want to? Be friends?" He seemed to be a little surprised, but obviously people don't want to befriend him so quickly. John's eyes were trained on yours as he searched for a lie, before his lips curled up and he pulled you closer to him, "That sounds fine to me." Your body shook at the closeness of him, you could smell his cologne and you just wanted to be consumed by the scent. Your nose twitched and he noticed as his brows raised. He let himself kiss your forehead as he hummed, "You still have to confess, my dear." You nodded, "can we do that later?" You didn't feel like having blood on you just yet. John bit his lip while he stared, "Fine." You smiled and pulled the thick blankets closer to your cheeks as you went back and shut your eyes. You could feel John's baby blues boring a hole into the back of your skull, so you turned around and you cuddled into him. His breath hitched at your action and clearly this wasn't a normal thing for him as he hesitantly let his arms wrap around your waist, almost like he wasn't sure if he was allowed to hold you. Your body seemed to fit perfectly with his as you yawned against his chest. His heavy breathing was probably what put you to sleep so fast, your hands twitching when his own hands brushed over them.
John couldn't describe this feeling, of finally finding his soulmate and and he kissed your forehead again, and his body shook in excitement from seeing you just laying in his bed, and you fit so perfectly it was like you belonged there with him. Honestly, if he asked you, you'd agree.
