Chapter IV - Leo
WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE CITY BOUNDARY, We were stopped by a very ticked off statue, which didn't appear to have any arms or legs. Leo had no idea what to do. Percy nodded to the statue, and handed over a pen to a young girl with a basket. The statue looked pleased. "That's it praetor, All weapons in the basket." Percy winked at Leo and made a circle round his ear with his finger, pointing at the statue. Leo laughed and put his hammers in the basket. The rest of their group did the same, and as they crossed the boundary, the statue called back to them.
"Praetor, anytime you need to kill another giant you know who to call!"
Leo looked at him somewhat admiringly. he had killed a giant!
Annabeth was stoppe by he little girl, who whispered in her ear. "Your boyfriend is cute" she said proudly and Annabeth laughed.
"Yes, yes he is." she smiled, walking up to Percy and holding his hand, leaning her head ion his shoulder. He kissed her lightly on the forehead and Leo slowed down a bit to walk by Piper, who was tearing at the couple.
"Those two are so adorable together..." she muttered and Leo pulled a face.
The senators and heads of cabins all filed into an ampitheatre and Leo almost walked into Annabeth as she stopped, astonished by the architecture. Percy whispered something to her and she punched him on the shoulder.
The senators gestured for Percy and Jason to go to the front. Jason launched into his story. He seemed perfectly confident on stage, as he told the crowd about Boreas and Festus, and King Minos, and the battle at the Wolf house. The crowd nodded, impressed and a muttering spread throughout the crowd. Rayna shushed them and motioned for Percy to get up. He ran his hand through his hair, looking a little nervous.
"So this all started, about a week ago. I was on the run from two gorgons, offering me poison snacks from BargainMart, looking for Camp Jupiter. Then I find an old lady on the side of the road who asks me to carry her into camp, and I do, and it turns out its Juno." Said Percy. Frank piped up from the back.
"Dont forget the part where you saved my life!" he turned towards the crowd. "One of the gorgons had picked me up and was carrying me away, so Percy, jumps into the river and creates two huge hands out of the water, smashing the gorgons to bits and saving my life."
There was applause and Percy blushed. "Later that day, after war games, Mars arrived at camp and claimed Frank as his son. He also gives us a quest, '"Go to Alaska. Find Thanatos and free him. Come back by sundown on June twenty-fourth or die." percy paused and then continued. "So frank, hazel and I went,"
Leo listened in awe, and then it came to the part about the gorgons blood. "And I drank it." said Percy, matter of factly.
Annabeth stood up. "You did WHAT!" she shouted at him, and he raised his hands in defence. "It was the only way." he said, and she sat back down. He continued, right up to the bit where he killed Polybotes.
"And that's when you guys came."
Leo finally realised why the city was trashed. They had been in a battle.
Jason looked upset.
Slowly, but growing stronger, the senators started to applaud, until the whole room ing with their raucous laughter.
