Chapter XV -Leo

WE WERE ALL TAKING THE LOSS OF PERCY HARD, ESPECIALLY ANNABETH. She was crying all the time, and it took all of our effort to convince her to stop. Her hand was practically glued to Riptide.

I tried to cheer everyone up by making tacos, but no-ones heart was in it and we sat around the table in gloomy silence. all that could be heard was the rolling of the waves.

I stood up from the table silently, putting my plate on the side and pushing my chair in. As I was about to go, Riptide seemed to try and leap from Annabeths hand. We all looked at the pen, which was jerking around.

"Annabeth," I said slowly, gently taking it from her and feeling it pull. "Didn't you say that Riptide will always appear in Percy's pocket?"

She nodded, understanding dawning on her face. "It obviously can't disappear while someone is holding it, so it is pulling in Percy's direction, trying to go to him. It can lead us there!" I exclaimed, looking around.

"Now all we need is transport. The Argo is too large..." I trailed off as Annabeth started an iris message in the corner. It was an image of a black Pegasus.

"Blackjack, bring hour sorry horse behind here right now and bring friends. We need to save Percy." Annabeth told the Pegasus firmly. Blackjack neighed and took off, as Annabeth wiped her hand through the vision and it disappeared. We all stared at her.

"Thats a horse Annabeth." said Jason bluntly. "It won't understand."

Annabeth grinned. "That's Percy's Pegasus, blackjack. Trust me, he understands anything you say."

We didn't have to wait long. Soon enough, a group of winged horses lead by Blackjack clipped to a halt on deck. I stroked the mane of a large one and mounted it, settling down with my hands laced through the mane of he Pegasus. I could swear Blackjack shot Annabeth a dirty look as she mounted him, holding riptide. Jason gave the signal to set off and we rose into the air.

I could see that Annabeth was straining to keep hold of the pen, which was nearly pulling her off her Pegasus. She tied a length of rope around it and held the other end, so the pen shot infront on a leash.

She grinned back at us and spurred Blackjack onward.

"Follow tht pen!"
