All joking aside, thanks for reading this. I would really appreciate if you guys could leave a comment, it really helps to get the motivation to continue.}

Chapter XI - Hazel

AS CAMP JUPITER FADED OUT OF SIGHT, I FOLLOWED FRANK to the prow of the ship. The view was amazing, rows and rows of mountains surrounded by lush fields and small hamlets, but no towns. I couldn't help but look at Frank. He was staring into the distance, his black hair ruffling in the wind as he frowned slightly. He looked hot, and I was conscious of his hand on mine, warm, strong, reassuring. I leaned my head on his shoulder, thinking nothing in the world could be more perfect. Then we reached the sea.

It was beautiful in the evening light, tinted with orange and sparking gently. Leo landed the Argo on the sea, and I watched as Percy ran out and dived over the side. He surfaced in the centre of a pod of dolphins, his eyes gleaming.

I snuggled up to Frank as he put his arms around me. I leaned into him and he looked softly at me. I kissed him, and he returned the kiss, as we sat there in our own Elysium.

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A GOOD SWIM WITH SOME DOLPHINS when you're feeling down. I whipped in and out of the water, the spray whipping around me as the sun set.

The moment didn't last long.

Soon enough, I felt something huge stirring in the water below us. I wasn't surprised, 7 powerful demigods in one place was a great recipe for attracting all the biggest of monsters. I used water to propel myself onto the ship and ran to the cockpit. "Incoming!" I called into the mic and ran back out onto the deck, Leo on my heels as the sea serpent pulled it's head out of the water.

The thing was huge, like NYC skyscraper huge, and Hazel and Frank gasped when they saw it. Jason ran out from below decks with Piper, and drew Ivilis. I drew Riptide.

"Hit it hard and fast!" I called, leaping onto its head and stabbing downwards, my blade piercing it's scales and leaving a stream of golden ichor, the blood of the gods, flowing.

For a second all my friends could do was gape, but then Annbeth spurred them into action.

"Come on you idiots!" she shouted, attacking the neck of the serpent. I went for its mouth, jumping inside, and Annabeth screamed.

"PERCY!"

The inside of the mouth was disgusting, all slimy and green. The serpents teeth were adorned with strands of flesh and it looked like it hadn't flossed in like, years. I grimaced, stabbing Riptide through the roof of its mouth. It let out an anguished cry of pain as ichor flowed over me, drenching my clothes.

"Please don't swallow, please don't swallow." I muttered, sinking riptide in even deeper until it met the monsters brain. There was a rattling noise as the monster vaporised, but left behind its exoskeleton.

I was trapped, helpless, as the monster sunk into the sea, taking me with it.

I slashed at the scales on the throat, and they started to give way, so I attacked with renewed force. My blade broke through, and water began to flood faster into the carcass. I kicked out, hard, and a large chunk broke off, letting me swim through.

I kicked out for the surface.

I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. THE GREAT PERCY JACKSON was gone, swallowed by the first monster we encountered. The prophecy had come true. Hazel was gripping my hand, and I held her close, stroking her hair while she cried. Annabeth was sobbing, and Jason and Piper just looked stunned. Leo was shaking his head in disbelief.

"He can't be dead!" cried Annabeth, her eyes wild. I clutched Hazel even tighter.

Then there was a voice from behind.

"Damn right."

Leo whipped around and gasped. Percy was standing there, bone dry, holding Riptide. He had a large grin plastered across his face. "Did you really think I would give up that easily?" he smirked, and Annabeth tackled him with a kiss. I smiled, looking at hazel.

"Now there's a good idea." I said, and I kissed her.
