Chapter 16: Distant

Jordan's POV-

I smiled widely, standing in the doorway of Michael's bedroom, listening to them. Mashton is finally real. I sigh softly as I start to think about my boyfriend, Jesse. I love him with all my heart, but we've been really distant. I'm still friends with Cameron and Kayla and they even say that Jesse has been distant with them too.

Two weeks ago a movie theater down the street from my school just opened which gave me an idea. I decided to call Jesse to see if he'd go with me to see some movie. I called him and he didn't answer. I frowned and then he immediately called back.

"Hey... Um... You okay..?" I asked as I bit my lip. Jesse and I haven't spoken in a bit since he's been distant. 

"Yeah, I'm fine. What's up?" He asked. Something is going on... Usually, he would say he loves me or how I am or something. 

I started to get nervous. "Nothing. I just wanted to know if you'd like to go to the movies with me? Like a date?"

"Actually I can't, I kinda got plans. I have to help out my cousin with some things." He responded. He never told me about a cousin.

I sigh softly. "Okay. Well, I love you."

"Okay. Got to go." He said and then hung up.

I slightly teared up. Jesse is never like this. Something has to be wrong. But I decided to not think about it anymore and call Cam and Kayla to see what they are doing. I grab my phone and I do a three-way video call with them. They both answer at the same time.

"Hey girl hey," Cam said in a girly tone.

I giggled and waved. "Hey, Cam."

Kayla smiled. "Hey guys, wassup?"

"Heyy I wanna know if you two wanna go to the movies by our school, with me?" I asked.

"Ooh yes! Is Lukey going?" Cam asked, looking serious through my phone screen. 

I bit my lip and shook my head. "No..."

He sighed. "Okay. What about Jesse?"

I looked down. "Nope.."

Kayla scoffed and rolled her eyes. "What is he doing, ditching his friends? Ass wipe." She said, causing Cam and I to laugh.

"Well, I'm picking you girls up then we going to the movies. Ooh! Maybe we can go to the mall after and get our nails done!" Cam said. I giggled and nodded.

Half an hour later, Cam knocks on the front door. I run downstairs and open the door, waving at Cam and Kayla.

"Let's go, bitch. We're gonna have some fun!" Cam exclaimed. I giggled and ran to his car. He drove us to the movies and we got our tickets to see Detective Pikachu and grab some popcorn.

Hehe, Michael is gonna be mad cause I'm watching it without him.
We find our seats and we eat our popcorn, not caring that the movie hasn't even started yet.
I watch the movie previews as Kayla taps on my shoulder, getting my attention. She then points to a couple that is a few rows down. I looked at them, seeing a teenage boy kissing a girls neck. I look closer and recognize the boys face... Jesse.
