Derek went back to his apartment after the meeting. He was tired and was thinking about Victoria again. He couldn't believe that she had jumped the gun on him without consulting him on anything for THEIR wedding. He wished that he hadn't said that she could plan it.
Derek opened the door to the apartment to find Martin and Grace sitting on the couch watching the television. He closed the door and let out another sigh.
Martin and Grace turned around. Martin turned around, "Oh hey Derek your back, how was wedding planning?"
Derek walked to the kitchen table pulled out a chair and collapsed into it.
Grace who had short black hair and blue eyes turned around and looked at Derek, "That good huh? By the way congratulations on your engagement."
Derek put his face back into his hands, "uggggg, Thank you," He responded through his hands.
Martin and Grace paused their movie because they stopped paying attention to it. The two of them got off the couch and walked to the table again. Martin then asked, "So you told me you would tell me what happened last night, so what happened?"
Grace looked at Derek, "oh I gotta hear this, this outta be good."
Grace had met Victoria on a couple occasions. She didn't like her very much because she was very bitchy to her when the four of them had gone out together.
Derek took his face out of his hands and slammed them on the table, "you really wanna know?" He asked.
Martin and Grace nodded at him.
Derek sighed, "okay well apparently I ran late to start off and then I asked her to marry me. When I did I didn't even get to finish asking the question. She just said yes and then proceeded to take pictures of the ring and call her girlfriends and invite them out. She didn't even want to come here and celebrate the fact that we got engaged. Then she jumped the gun this morning and wanted to plan out the whole thing . . . How the hell am I supposed to plan a wedding in three months time?"
"What?!" The two answered in stereo.
"That's what I said," Derek responded.
Grace looked at him, "Did you even get a day at all on any of this?"
Derek laughed, "No," he responded.
Martin looked at him, "Why?"
"I said to her last night over dinner that it was whatever she wanted."
Martin laughed and the face palmed, "Why would you say that to her?" Martin asked.
"I don't know because I told her she could plan it and that I was happy as long as she was happy."
Grace looked at him, "Derek you know Victoria correct?"
"Yup."
"You know not to tell her something like that because she will jumped the gun on the whole thing right?"
Derek nodded, "yup."
Martin looked at him and started laughing, "Your marriage is going to be hell."
"I know, she wants a big house like a mansion. You know that thing I can't afford."
Grace looked at Derek, "Derek I feel like she's just interested in you for the money."
"Mhmm, all the money that I don't have. The only reason that I got the ring that I did was because I scrimped and saved for well over a year."
Grace looked at him, "I know you did . . . Derek I don't think that Victoria's the right woman for you."
Things got quiet between the three. Derek ran his fingers through his hair, "I don't know I mean-"
Martin and Grace both looked at him. Martin said what Grace said, "Derek I'm in the same boat as Grace, I don't think you should marry Victoria."
Derek sighed, "I know she's possessive and stuff but I asked her the question because I love her and I want her to have the very best-"
"DEREK!" Grace started.
Derek looked at Grace, "Yeah?"
"She treats you like garbage! You just said that she literally took over planning the wedding and that your supposed to be getting married in three months time! She doesn't like me and Martin has always gotten kicked out of the apartment whenever she comes over! Think about that!"
Derek thought about it, "Yeah your right."
"Do what you want but don't come crying to us when Victoria runs you broke," Grace told him.
"Yeah your right."
Derek's phone buzzed. It was Victoria:
"Tux fitting tomorrow, be there at noon!!! Bring Martin because he's in the wedding party, I already picked out the other half of the grooms men. I already told them to be there."
Derek looked at the phone and then at Martin, "We have to go for Tux fittings Tomorrow afternoon, at least your in the wedding party."
Grace facepalmed and then Martin started to chuckle, "Oh wonderful, is the wicked witch going to be there?"
"Why of course she planned the whole damn thing."
Grace looked at him, "Do what you want Derek but that's my advice to you is don't marry her, have fun at your tux fitting tomorrow." Grace got up and grabbed her bag, she walked to Martin and kissed him goodbye, "Does she at least kiss you goodbye?" Grace then asked.
"No, not since I got engaged," Derek told her.
"Ugh!" Grace told him and then left the apartment.
The two boys laughed as she left.
