Derek began to whisper on his end of the phone, "Hey Kate, it's Derek from the coffee shop this morning," He started.

There was dead silence on the other end of the phone. It got quiet but then there was a response,  "Hi Derek," Kate answered back to him.

"I was calling to see if you would do me a huge favor?" He asked.

"I'm still at work until eight but what's up?"

"Do you think you can rescue me after work? My fiancee has me trapped in her father's house as we speak. She hit me with a mirror this afternoon. My friend Martin and his girlfriend Grace are here but they can't take me away from here because she already threatened them this afternoon," He whispered.

Kate listened to Derek on the other end of the phone, "Derek is it that bad with your fiancee? Did she really hit you with a mirror?" She asked.

"Yeah, I blacked out and woke up-" Derek was in the middle of a whisper when he suddenly heard a knock and a voice.

"DEREK!" A cringy female's voice shouted through the bathroom door at him.

Derek's eyes got wide and then he spoke quickly into the phone, "I have to go, that's her, I'm sending Martin or Grace your way to come get me, Bye Kate!" Derek told her in a whispered squeaky voice.

"Bye Derek?" Kate responded on the other end of the phone as Derek slammed the line down.

"WHO WERE YOU TALKING TO?!"

Derek got very scared again, "N-n-no one dear!" He responded with a stutter this time.

"That's a lie!" She snapped at him through the bathroom door at him.

Derek stayed near the phone, "No it's not!" He answered to her.

Things got quiet after a minute or so. Derek looked at the bathroom door, "Victoria?" He started.

There was a large bang on the door. Derek's eyes got wide again and then he ran to the window. He opened and looked outside.

If he were to jump out of it he wouldn't be able too. It was way to high up. He would die if he tried to jump. Derek looked down at the patch of grass that was below him.

There was another large bang on the door, "Shit!" He whispered to himself.

"DEREK OPEN THIS DOOR!" She shouted at him.

Derek backed out of the window, "think think think," Derek noticed the distance between the bathroom door and the bedroom door.

He smiled seeing it and figured that he would take the risk. Derek unlocked the door as fast as he could. He opened it and found his "Bride to be" standing outside the bathroom door on the hallway with a crowbar.

She looked at him and raised it up over her head. She began to chase him. Derek ran to the top of the stairs where he tripped over his own feet while trying to get down the stairs in one piece.

He tumbled his way down the huge flight of stairs. The people at the party stood and watched as he fell until he hit the bottom step and laid on his back. He stared at the ceiling kind of scared for a moment or so hoping she wouldn't come down and try to kill him with the crowbar.
