It had been two years since Victoria's arrest. They had shipped her off to the psychiatric ward to go spend some time with her mother. No one had heard from her since. She had tried to go after Derek again several times after he and his friends had left the county jail.
Derek and Kate had really hit it off after they got him stitched back together again. She did take him out for his sandwich after he got out of the hospital.
Within those two years, Grace and Martin got married, moved into Grace's house and decided to start a family right away.
Derek and Kate had been seeing each other at least once a week, which turned into twice, which then turned into a daily basis type of thing when he asked her to move into his apartment where he asked her to be his wife.
They had spent a year planning their wedding together. When wanted one something and the other didn't, they would find a way to compromise on it. Kate got to help pick his suit but she told him he had to be comfortable and happy wearing it. He decided not to wear this big monstrosity and just wear a white collared shirt and pants. Kate was absolutely fine with it.
Derek married Kate on the beach. The two had white and seashells on everything. Her wedding dress was white and she had a small bow in the back of her hair. It was nothing fancy but just enough to make her look like a bride.
Grace, even though she was carrying her first baby, was in the wedding party. Martin had been given back his rights to being Derek's best man.
When the two shared their first dance at the reception things seemed a little off. They talked about it. For some reason, the wedding cake was moving. It was slowly inching around the room, "Derek?"
"Yeah?" He responded.
"Is it me, or is there something off with the cake?" She asked him.
Derek looked at the cake, "It seems fine, will do the cake shortly after we eat," He told her.
Cake time had come and the cake had gotten very close to the wedding parties table. Grace looked at Kate, "How the hell did your cake get over here?" She asked in a whisper.
"I have no clue, i've had a funny feeling about it all afternoon," She responded.
Derek and Kate nervously cut the cake together. It seemed fine until Victoria burst out of the cake.
Everyone in the wedding party took off. Wedding guests were in the ocean, people were running towards their cars, everything had lost control. Derek, Kate, Grace, and Martin all looked at each other.
Victoria jumped off the wedding cake and was about to tackle Derek.
Thankfully she missed and everyone at the wedding was still running away. Even the four that were in the main wedding party.
Sometimes you just can't get rid of the past, in this case, an ex-bride.
