Sam hid behind a crate two kids huddling behind her. She turned to look at them. The very same kids she'd helped steal apples a few days before.
"Oh hey guys." Sam said With a slight grin. "What's up?"
The siblings looked between each other, before turning back to her.
"We're fine." The boy said, pulling his beanie closer to his face.
"We're hungry." The girl said, elbowing her brother in the side.
"We just need money."
Sam sighed the smile remaining on her lips.
"I know." Sam said, "the next person who comes over. You both run at them and steal their wallet, your much too small to get caught."
The siblings nodded, waiting for someone to emerge from the alley.
Sure enough it was her blue haired sister.
"Do we still steal from her?" The girl asked. "She's your sister."
"She's a traitor." Sam said. "Now when I say go, go."
Sam counted a few seconds as Jay, Gigi and Carlos walked past, and the king? That was much too easy. And then two girls that seemed oddly familiar, a girl with red hair and a girl with black hair.
"Go." Sam said as the two kids grabbed Evie, trying to take her wallet.
"Hey! Hey!" Evie calls as two kids. One of them had her red wallet in their gloved hand. Evie glanced back and forth between the kids for a moment before telling them kindly to just have her wallet.
"Wow." Sam said, stepping from behind the crate, giving the kids high fives as they ran past. "You've gone soft, E."
"Shit." Jay said. "It's Sam."
"Fuck you." Sam said as Ben's eyes widened slightly.
"And wherever Sam is..." Carlos began.
"Pirates are going to follow." Gigi said.
"It's so adorable seeing you all become soft and then thinking we'd care for you to come back." Sam said.
"We don't want any trouble Sam." Jay said. "We're not here to pick a fight with you."
"That's okay." Sam said, flicking Jay in the shoulder. "I'm sure we were going to fight anyway."
"Have you seen Mal?" Evie asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I don't know E." Sam said. "Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't."
"Why are we asking Sam of all people for help?" Carlos asked.
"That's a good question puppy boy." Sam said, tapping him on the chin. "I don't know why you guys are." She looked at the red haired girl and the brunette. "Who are they?"
"Oh that's Pandora." Gigi said, pointing to the redhead. "And that's Crystal."
"More Auradon bitches." Sam said. "How lovely."
"I don't appreciate being called a bitch." Pandora said, trying to appear tough. "And how can you not remember us?"
"I didn't know it was a secret." Sam said. "I don't try remembering people who aren't worth my time."
"What do you want Sam?" Jay asked.
"I don't know." Sam said. "I just happened to see you. I don't know why you're still here."
They walked around the corner, as Sam rolled her eyes and followed slyly.
Ben tried to say hello to a pirate but the pirate got in Ben's face with a growl, making the king step back away from the threatening pirate. Sam laughed as Evie glared back at her.
"Ben, stop, just stop." Evie said, grabbing his shoulder and pulling him away from the pirate. Carlos tried (and failed) to appear threatening toward the dirty pirate, but had no luck. He was always the one to be taunted, never the taunter.
"This isn't a parade, it's the Isle." Evie reminded once the pirate was gone and she'd steered them away, looking back toward Ben and the two Aks.
"Keep your hands in your pockets, unless you're stealing." Jay instructed.
"You either slouch or strut." Carlos adds. "And never, ever smile." Evie says. "Okay, thank-" Ben starts.
"No, no thank you's and drop the please too, just... Chill." Evie said, walking up to him and leaning her arm onto his shoulder.
The group broke into song about how the Auradon kids could learn to chill like villains. Sam didn't find it the inspiring, it was rather repetitive.
"Chillin' like, chillin' like, a villain, villain!" Ben sang as he continued down the road, someone turned around and bumps right into him.
"Hey, man!" Gil shouts, looking down at the king as they all sprint toward the two.
"Hey, I know you!" The blonde declares as a kind smile spreads across his face.
"Uh, no, don't know you either, man." Ben says as strongly as he can.
"Uh, yeah, you do! Come on, man. Really? Huh? Dude, I'll give you a hint, my dad is quick, slick, and his neck," Gil starts, pointing his fingers at his throat to reveal two eggs he stole from the cart behind them, "Eh! Is incredibly thick!" Ben looks back at the group for help as the blonde in front of him continues to ramble.
He stops and looks behind the group to point at a poster for the royal cotillion, the smile dropping from his lips. He moves his finger back toward Ben, their heads snapping toward the pirate. Once again, he looks to the poster then to the king before he finally figures it out. Silly, Gil.
"Ah! You're king Ben!" Gil exclaims.
"No, no," Ben starts. Maddie walked around Jay to reveal herself to the blonde in front of the king, pushing him away before anything bad happens.
"Yeah, you totally are king Ben, and you're, Evie, Jay, Carlos, hey guys and other girl!" He calls as they walk away from him.
"Uma's gonna love this!" Gil said, hopping up and down.
"Yeah." Sam said, turning around the corner. "She will. Let's go shut her up now."
"That's not very nice." Gil said. "Uma's the captain and we respect her."
"Uma's the captain and she needs to apologize to me." Sam said. "Then maybe I'll show her some respect."
"You're so funny Sam." Gil said laughing and clapping his hands together as the two made their way towards Ursula's Shoppe, where Uma was waiting.
