Sam entered the twins' room, finding them both fast asleep. She sighed, fixing the covers and tucking them in, placing kisses on their foreheads.
"Good night." Sam said, turning off the lights and closing the door softly behind her. She looked at the room across from them, Harry's pondering whether or not to open the door. She went with not, opening the door to her own room, shutting it. She slipped her jacket off, placing it on its hanger. She flipped on the light switch, turning around and almost having a heart attack. Harry lay on her bed, his head propped up on his head as he made a tutting sound under his breath.
"Where have you been?" Harry asked.
"What is with you scaring me today?" Sam said. "And I was watching the prisoners or whatever you want to call them because Uma said to."
"Since when did you listen to what Uma said?" Harry asked.
"I don't know." Sam said. "They're some strange people."
"I thought you'd end up killing all of them." Harry said. "I told Uma it wasn't a good idea leaving you alone with the king and two princesses that you seem to hate."
"I thought you had faith in me." Sam said with a pout.
"Faith, trust and pixie dust." Harry mumbled. "I do have faith in you Sassy. You're just known to kill people when you hate them."
"If that were true." Sam said. "There would be a lot less people here than there are."
"Okay." Harry said,. "I get your point. Come lay down."
"I don't want to." Sam said, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Sam you need to sleep." Harry said.
"I don't need to." Sam said. "Leave me alone."
Sam opened up her closet, taking the jacket off the hanger and tossing it inside. Harry crept behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her onto the bed.
"Harry." Sam said, sighing. "Stop being a bit-."
Harry interrupted what would have turned into her ranting by placing a quick kiss to her lips, before pulling away just as quickly as he had kissed her.
"You..you're something else." Sam said, trying to form a sentence.
"I left the Samantha Smee speechless." Harry said. "That's something new."
Sam muttered unflattering things under her breath, half of them half-hearted threats toward him. Harry chuckled softly, ignoring the insults she was throwing his way and looking at her directly in the eyes. Sam stopped rambling, pausing and staring back at him. They remained that way for a few moments, silence as they stared into each others eyes, neither wanting to say something that would end everything that they'd just started. They remained quiet, until the door to the room burst oopen, an angry Uma seething as she pointed a finger at them.
"Hey lovebirds break it up." Uma said. "The princesses are trying to escape with the help of Mal and I need you two to stop them."
"What about Ben?" Sam asked.
"I knew that Mal would try to pull something like this so I took him to the ship, their guarding him there. Now go get them!"
Sam muttered incoherent things under her breath, picking up her jacket and slipping it on. Harry picked his hook of the nightstand as the three of them left th Chip Shoppe.
"You go to the right." Uma said to Harry. "I'll go the left and Sam will caught them off in the middle."
Sam watched the two of them disappear down the alleys, hearing the faint sounds of talking, that she knew belonged to Mal. she shrugged her shoulders, walking forwards slowly as to not make a sound. Mal appeared out of the Facilier's shop, as Sam stood tapping her foot in foot in front of her.
"Hiya Malsy." Sam said, as both Evie and Mal recoiled at the sound of her voice. Mal muttered about how things couldn't get any worse. "Oh but it can get worse. Now hand over the princesses and come through with your deal like a good girl."
Evie looked between Sam and Mal before letting her gaze stay on Sam.
"Sam what happened to you?" Evie asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
"What happened to me?" Sam asked, mockingly. "What happened to me. I could ask the same to you. But you'll leave me again so it wouldn't matter."
"You're still on that?" Pandora asked, though she stopped talking when one of Sam's knives sailed past her head.
"I didn't say you could talk princess." Sam said.
"Sam I've said sorry a million times. I'm saying sorry right now. Why can't you forgive me?" Evie asked.
"Apparently I'm known for holding grudges." Sam said. "Maybe I would've forgiven you if you didn't leave me here to rot. Living your good life in Auradon. While I was still here. Maybe if you hadn't waited until now to say sorry I'd forgive you."
"Sam." Evie said. "You can come to Auradon with me. We could make dresses together and you wouldn't have to hide it. You could have your baby there too."
"Oh so you're only going to care about me just because you know I'm pregnant." Sam said. "That's funny Vivi. it really is."
"Simi." Evie said. "I can't change what happened. But I'm here now. That's all that matters."
"You weren't here when I needed you." Sam said. "Why should I care now."
"Sam-." Evie began,.
"No." Sam said. "You're going to make me feel guilty about something I didn't do like you always do. Then you're going to leave again."
"Evie." Mal said. "We don't need her to feel bad about anything. It is our fault for leaving her." Mal turned to Sam. "If you let us go now, I promise I'll get Ben to bring you over. I swear on my life."
Sam took a deep breath.
"Fine." Sam said. "Go down by the alley past my mom's castle, they won't bother you there."
"She's just going to let us go?" Pandora asked.
"Thank you." Crystal said as the four of them disappeared down the alleyway.
"Guys!" Uma called. "Did you find them?"
