Chapter 5

"and then he peered into the lake before he gets pulled by the man eating mermaid and died in a very awful way." renjun said making sound effects to add some extra chills to his horror story.

they were sitting around the firewood while eating their dinner and to make it more interesting, donghyuck suggested each one of them tells a horror story just for fun.

"that's not scary at all. i have a better story." jeno said proudly and turned serious within a second.

"once upon a time, there were four boys camping in a forest... just like us right now." he began.

"all of them were so brave to have a camp trip in the forest despite horror stories that they heard from the townspeople about that forest."

"what did the townspeople say?" bora asked completely uninterested with all of their stories because none of them were scary.

"the townspeople said that the forest was cursed. during night, human will become food..." jeno said in the scariest tone he can do.

"food.... to the vampires." he continued and send chills to all of them when the wind suddenly blowed.

"the vampires were mean.... they sucked the human blood to keep living and only came out during nights because they were afraid of sunlight. they have no mercy and keep sucking human blood without thinking about them." jeno continued and they all listened to him passionately.

however, bora didn't like the story at all. she didn't like how jeno talked about vampires being mean and heartless and all.

the story ended and they all quickly finished their foods and started to clean up the mess. bora approached jeno and helped him with the leftovers.

"say, do you believe in vampires?" she asked and looked at him. jeno smiled at her and thought for a few seconds.

"i don't know but i think that they're not exists." jeno said calmly not noticing bora's darkened appearances.

"if they exists, will you be scared?" she asked again in much slow tones. jeno looked at her and put his hand on her shoulder.

"of course i'll be scared. but you don't have to worry. i made up the story and if there's really vampires out there, i will protect you from them." he said and smiled at bora before continued his works and left the girl behind.

"sure... you will protect me." bora mumbled to herself and joined the others when they settled in the cottage.

they put on their sleeping bag next to each other on the floor and ready to go to sleep. bora placed hers next to jeno and laid there silently. jaemin turned off the lights and they all wished each other good night.

about one hour later, they all seemed to fall asleep except for bora. she can't sleep and decided to go outside for some fresh night air.

bora went out alone and sat on a log where they had dinner just now. she looked at the sky and just admired its beauty.

"bora? what are you doing outside?" she tilted her head towards the cottage and found jeno at the doorway.

"just taking some fresh air." she answered and turned her attention back to the dark sky decorated with shining stars. jeno wore his slippers and sat down on the log besides bora. both of them were star gazing until jeno switched his eyes to the girl besides him.

jeno soon realised that he's now officially has a crush on bora. he found her extremely gorgeous and although bora didn't express her feelings very well, jeno thinks that bora was so cute when she smiles.

he stared at her and became flustered when the girl shifted her gazes towards him. both of them were so close and jeno's heart fluttered when the girl scooted even closer to him.

the moonlight gave a perfect spotlight on bora and jeno can finally saw her face clearly. however, he began to worry because he noticed how pale the girl was.

"are you sick? you look pale..." he whispered and bora quickly looked away.

"i-i haven't had my meals for almost a month." she said softly and jeno's eyes widened in shock. a month? how can someone survive without eating for a month?

"then why you refused to eat every time we're eating together? why don't you eat the sausages or corns or meats that we had prepared few hours ago?" jeno asked slightly angry at her because how stubborn she was.

his angry feelings didn't held much longer when bora suddenly pulled him closer for a hug. jeno blushed when the girl hug him cause they never initiated skinship before.

"cause those are not my meals..." she whispered in jeno's ear and hugged him much tighter. jeno froze and he can feel his body shaking in fear.

"jeno.... i need your help.... can you help me?" she whispered again and jeno nodded. he really wanted to break from the hug and ran away from her because she made him scared but his body remained to stay in place.

"i need you... i need your blood...." bora whispered one last time before her fangs suddenly made an appearance. she smelled the sweet blood that was hiding behind jeno's skin and was about to bite jeno's neck before she felt a rock hit her head.
