Chapter 9

"i'm so jealous of you." bora said which made jeno's frowned. before he could say anything, she explained her statement.

"you have such a nice mother. you also have many friends like jaemin, renjun and donghyuck. you're a smart boy and the whole school love you." jeno grinned and thanked her for the unexpected compliments.

"how about you? are your parents vampires too?" he asked such a stupid question but bora understand his curiosity. she smiled back at him.

"yes, they're both vampires. they died when i was 63 years old." she said and jeno's eyes widened in shook.

"woaw woaw woaw. how old are you now?"

"now? i'm 541 years old." the girl replied and chuckled as she saw jeno's reaction.

"mother of god! i don't think my great great grandmother was alive when you're born!" he exclaimed and scratched his head.

bora smiled again and gave a soft squeezed at jeno's hand. "you're funny. i like you." she said bluntly which made jeno blushed. however, jeno didn't set much hopes on her as he knew that bora must be referring at 'like' and not 'like like' or simply 'love'.

he coughed before changing the subject as it was too awkward between them. "so, how are you feeling?" he asked.

"well, much better but i still need some blood."

jeno asked her again. "can you survive without blood?"

the girl shook her head and replied. "every vampires need blood. we don't need much though. only once in a month or else, we will become weak and eventually die."

jeno looked at her and rubbed his neck a few times nervously. bora knew that jeno wants to help but he's too scared although he didn't show it. no matter how desperate she was, she promised herself not to bite any of them after what had happened last night.

"well.... y-you can b-bite me i-if you really need blood." he said while stuttering and sat at the edge of the bed.

she caressed jeno's hand softly and smiled. "you know that it's not necessary to bite you. you can use a syringe or something to take your blood out." she said which made jeno felt hundred times better.

his eye smiles began to form. "really? i can do that?"

as soon as the girl nodded, jeno jumped out of the bed and ran into the living room. he went to the medicines section and grab the first aid kit before running back to the guest room.

he closed the door and locked the room because he didn't want to freak out his mother if she saw what they were doing.

"are you really doing this for me?" bora asked while jeno was preparing the syringe and other equipment. he looked back at her and smiled.

"why not? you're my friend and friends should help each other." he said but then he remembered that he know nothing about syringe.

"well.... i might need some help." he muttered and reached for his phone.

"you can wait till tonight right?" jeno asked as the girl nodded.

that night, jeno was helping serving dinner for his family. "honey, where's your friend? is she's not eating with us?" jeno's mom asked while she was arranging the dishes. his dad suddenly came into the kitchen, scratching his head.

"that's weird.... yeobo, did you see my first aid kit?" his father said as his mother shook her head. meanwhile, jeno acted as he knew nothing but actually he's the one who took it.

"jeno, did you see it?" his father asked and jeno shook his head innocently. because he's the apple of his parent's eyes, his father believe everything he said.

his father scratched his head in confusion. "your sister didn't take it to her camp right?" his father asked again and jeno just shrugged.

"maybe she did. she's always dream to be a doctor just like you." his mother replied, referring to jeno's older sister. his father was a doctor and his sister just want to be a doctor just like him. meanwhile, jeno dreams to become a successful businessman.

once they had done serving, they sat at the dining table. "jeno, did you invite your friend for dinner?" his mother asked and jeno nodded.

his father asked. "then, where is she?"

"she's not feeling well so she's just resting." jeno replied but his father shook his head.

he began lecturing to jeno about health. jeno mentally blamed bora for this. "yes, she's sick and that's why she has to eat. if she's not eating, her body will become weaker and weaker and she might end up become more sick. as a good friend, you must help her to go down and accompany her for dinner."

jeno sighed. "appa, can't she just eat in her room?"

his father shook his head. "it's not nice to eat in a room. besides, i wanted to see her." and that's why jeno brought the vampire down to eat dinner.
