Chapter 8

"you're unbelievable." jaemin muttered and pushed jeno away before he stormed off. jeno felt bad for making jaemin angry but he didn't like the way they insulted bora as if she did a big crime.

yes, she might tried to hurt jeno last night but she apologised and jeno can see that she's really sincere about it. the boys just couldn't see it.

suddenly jaemin came out from the cottage while carrying his stuff. "i'm calling my dad and we're going back. i don't want to spend another night in a forest with a vampire." he hissed as he looked at bora.

renjun and donghyuck ran into the cottage and quickly packed their stuffs but jeno still sat on the log with bora in his arms. jaemin was still angry at jeno and bora so he began to act salty towards them.

"hey kids. what's with the sudden call?" jaemin's dad asked as they got into the car. jaemin acted as normal as he can and said that bora gets sick and she needed to go back home and rest.

before his father arrived, all of them promised to keep bora's identity as a secret. she opened up a bit about herself and made the dreamies understand her condition. soon, their fear towards her slowly disappeared as bora seemed to be trustworthy.

"so where's the her house? i can drop her first before everyone else." jaemin's dad said while they're on the way out from the forest.

bora tugged jeno's shirt and he brought his face near the girl so he can hear her clearly. "bring me to your house."

jeno's eyes widened. "excuse me?"

"bring me to your house. i don't want to stay alone at home." she said as jeno thought for a moment. he never bring home a girl before and what should he tell his parents? maybe they will understand since they're as lovely as him.

"uncle, just drop us at my house. she's staying with me for awhile cause there's no one at her home." jeno explained and jaemin's dad just nodded.

once they reached jeno's house, he and bora got out of the car and thanked jaemin's dad again. he waved goodbye at them and the boys waved back at him.

"honey, i thought you'll be back tomo— oh, hello sweetie." jeno's mom smiled as she saw bora, who was awkwardly standing behind jeno.

jeno cleared his throat and introduced bora to his mother. "you don't mind right if she's staying here for awhile?" jeno asked and his mother gladly invited her in.

she put bora in the guest room which was besides jeno's room and then excused herself while dragging his son with him.

"well, you never said you have a girlfriend." his mom said with a mischievous smiled on her face. jeno blushed and shook his head quickly.

"she's not my girlfriend. she's just my friend." he defence himself but his mother just ruffled his hair.

"she must be special then since you never bring a girl before." she said before going into the kitchen to make a soup for whom she assumed was her son's girlfriend.

jeno sighed and went back into the guest room to look after bora. his mother was right after all. bora was a special girl for him. seeing her sleep soundlessly made jeno wanted to protect her more.

about one hour later, jeno's mom came upstairs while holding a tray with a bowl of soup and a cup of tea. she peeked into the room and saw jeno sitting at the edge of the bed while playing his phone. jeno realised her mother's presence and quickly went to her to help her with the tray.

"aigoo, she's still sleeping? hmm, once she's awake feed her this delicious soup that i made. all her sickness will go away!" his mother said happily before leaving the two alone.

"your mom is so nice." jeno almost dropped the tray as he heard the voice. bora chuckled before apologised for shocking him.

"ermm, my mom made this for you. but i don't think you can eat other than blood." jeno muttered as he put the tray of food on the desk besides the bed.

"you're wrong. i can actually eat human food. i just don't want them." she said and jeno's eyes lightened up. he quickly took the bowl and gave it to her but she refused, making him frown.

"you said that you can eat...." jeno pouted a bit and made bora smiled cause she thinks he was cute.

she began to explain everything to him. "i'm actually traumatised to eat other food. the last time i ate them, human put garlic in it and i'm just too excited to notice."

"then... what happened to you?" jeno asked.

"well, garlic can't kill me. just like what donghyuck had done last night, it was painful and i gradually lost consciousness." she replied.

jeno looked down at the soup and tried to feed her. "try this. my mom doesn't put garlic in soup. besides this is a mushroom soup." he explained.

bora looked at the spoon and shook her head. "i don't know... it's been awhile since i ate human food. i don't remember how they taste like."

"come on, it's really tasty. trust me." jeno gave her a reassuring smile and brought the spoon closer to her mouth.

bora looked into jeno's eyes as she finally opened her mouth. the vampire finally tasted human food but she still need blood to give her energy.
