Chapter 7

"aah... it hurts... help..." jeno woke up from his sleep when he heard some noise. he rubbed his eyes and saw bora being tied at a pole not far away from him. at first he was confused but then he remembered what truly happened last night.

the rest of them were still sleeping soundly. suddenly, he heard bora called him.

"jeno.... help me.... it hurts.... please, i beg you." bora said this time and jeno couldn't help but felt sorry for her. he walked towards her and saw that the sunlight from the window was slowly burning her skin.

jeno kneeled next to her and felt more sorry when he saw tears rolled down her cheeks. bora's eyes were back to its colour and her fangs had completely disappeared. he quickly ran to the window and pulled the curtain to shield bora from the sunlight.

"thank you." bora muttered softly as she looked at jeno's in the eyes. however, jeno avoided her gazes and sat down next to her.

"i-i have a lot of things in mind." jeno said, not even sparing a glance at her. bora looked down and replied. "go ahead."

"a-are you attacking m-me last night b-because i tell bad stories about vampires? a-about your kinds?" he stuttered because he was still scared but the girl can understand him well.

"no. i told you that i lost control last night. i didn't mean to attack you." she explained and at the same time they both looked at each other.

"you like me don't you?" bora asked and jeno felt his face heated up. although he knew that bora was a vampire, he still can't resist her charms.

jeno quickly looked away from her. "i'm sorry but i don't like you anymore. you're a vampire and i'm a human. i cannot like you."

before he could say anything more, the rest of them were awake and jaemin quickly pulled jeno away from her.

"hey, it's okay. she's back to normal." jeno said trying to calm them down. however, jaemin was being overprotective and shook his head.

"jeno, you cannot put your guard down. she can attack you anytime she wants or when you least expected it." he said while pulling jeno away but jeno removed his hand from jaemin's.

he ran besides the girl and looked at his friends. "look, we should not do this. we should not act like this." he spoke but his friends stared at him in disbelief.

"don't be ridiculous. you're blind by love!" donghyuck said in frustration and the boys nodded.

"let's free her." jeno said sternly.

the boys furrowed their eyebrows. "excuse me? are you crazy? she's going to kill us all!" renjun began shouting.

"if she wants to kill us she would has done it long time ago. please, let her go. can't you see how we're torturing her?" jeno pointed out and the boys slightly felt guilty. he kept begging his friends until they finally agreed to free bora.

donghyuck pulled out a knife and cut the ropes that were holding the girl. as soon as the ropes fell from her body, bora collapsed and almost hit the floor but jeno quickly caught her.

"thank you...." bora said before she closed her eyes.

"this is crazy. my friend literally fell in love with a vampire." jaemin muttered and the boys laughed at his expression. they were sitting on the logs outside, just relaxing and chilling.

soon, jeno came out and walked towards them while carrying bora in bridal style. he also put a sun hat on her so that she's safe from the sunlight.

jeno sat on one of the log and put bora next to him. meanwhile, the boys just stared at jeno. they can't believe that he still likes the girl although she just tried to suck his blood last night.

bora was so weak that she can't barely walk or sit up straight. so, she was leaning at jeno the whole time and trust me, jeno loves it.

jaemin saw how his best friend looked at the girl lovingly and faked a cough to grab his attention. "is she okay?" jaemin asked.

"not really. she's really weak and she can't even speak." jeno explained. he looked at his friends and said something crazy.

"she need blood."

the boys eyes widened and their jaw dropped as they heard him.

"what the hell man?! where can you find blood in the middle of a forest?" donghyuck said and shook his head rapidly. jeno was the smartest among them but right now donghyuck found him nuts.

"we.... we can donate our blood." jeno said again and this time, their friends literally lost their minds.

renjun scoffed and rolled his eyes. "how you gonna donate your blood?! you're not going to the blood donation and asked back for your blood pack?!"

"we don't have to go to the hospital. we just—"

"what? let her bite us?" jaemin cut jeno off and made him froze.

"we cannot help her, jeno. she must leave." jaemin said again but jeno was too stubborn to listen to them.

jeno looked down at bora, who was resting her head on his chest. he can't help but felt more guilty everytime he looked at her. "i'll do it."

"what?!"

"bora, bite me. i'll give you my blood." jeno said as he softly cupped bora's face to make her faced him. bora opened her eyes slowly and shook her head.

"no.... it's too dangerous." she replied and closed her eyes back. before jeno can protest, jaemin grabbed jeno by his collar and yelled at him.

renjun and donghyuck were shocked and pulled jaemin away before the two best friends got into a fight.

"i know you like her but this is too much, jeno! forget about her! she's a freaking vampire!" jaemin shouted and eyed his best friend angrily.

jeno smirked and shook his head. "i don't like her..."

"i love her."
