Sorry, it's taken me a while to post this, but I was having a bit of writers block, well that's an understatement. More like writers brick wall. Anyway, enjoy the chapter.

Chapter Nineteen -> Jordan's ~ Point Of View

MIST ROLLED ACROSS THEGROUND IN FRONT OF HIM, UNAWARE OF where he was Jordan yelled, "Is anyone there?"

A faint whisper caught his ears, not loud enough to know from whom, but someone was there. The frosted grass crunched beneath his feet. An angel carved of marble stared at him from across the path. Its stiff arm pointing behind him, Jordan turned.

The angel looked as if it was pointing towards a fountain. Jordan thought nothing of it until he heard the scraping of stone on stone. He looked back at the angel, to see its head had moved, now looking straight at him.

Whispers caught his ears again, this time they were soft and alluring. Jordan looked back to the fountain; a girl was perched on the stone. He frowned; there was something familiar about her. As if she knew he was looking, she looked up at him. "Anna?" he said. She looked surprised for a moment before abruptly standing up, and running off.

She stopped by a thick green hedge. She smiled and gestured with her finger for him to follow. Jordan didn't know what was going on, but it was Anna. He couldn't just let her go.

Jordan ran after her, "Anna!" disappearing into a gap in the hedge, Anna was out of sight. Jordan pushed himself - running faster. He ran through the gap where Anna had been, hedges stretched above him, in front of him. There was an angel between the leaves, its smooth stone moulding with age, ivy curled around its throat like a noose. The statue turned its head, pointing its arm along the path in front of him. Jordan saw - carved along the angels arms - were the words The Labyrinth.

"Anna!" he started running again, more stone angels moved, pointing his way through the maze. Monsters moved in the shadows, Jordan wanted to draw the blades from his boots and fight them. As a Shade, it was his job. But he didn't. He carried on racing forwards until he broke free of the maze, and into a clearing.

"You reached the middle," Jordan turned round, his eyes met only more mist, as if no one was there. "I knew you would," the voice was behind him again.

"Who's there!?" he yelled. The mist rolled and swirled as bare feet walked through them, her white dress trailing behind her. "Anna," Jordan sighed - smiling - as he walked towards her, she held up her hand.

"I'm not Anna," she said, "but that's close enough," Jordan frowned.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"I can't tell you,"

"Where am I then?"

"I can't tell you," she smiled.

Jordan clenched his fists by his sides; the air was growing colder, front creeping along the ground. "Is there anything you can tell me?"

"No," she paused. Jordan watched wearily as she started walking towards him. "But I can show you." She reached out, taking hold of his shoulder.

The world was a blur of fading colours, spiralling out of control Jordan could only look at the girl. She looked so much like Anna from a far, up close, she was entirely different. Her hair was white, warm brown eyes set in the same heart shaped face.

Realisation hit Jordan like a train, "you're her mom!" was all he managed to squeeze through is lungs. Teleportation had never been so brutal. She nodded smiling, before pushing Jordan back. He hit the floor with a thud leaving him breathless.
