Hwang had come home about a week later and I was so excited to see him again. I'd visited him almost every day since, but I still missed him a bunch. He was the sweetest little pup and I really couldn't understand why and how someone could do that to him.
When we were on the way to the vet to pick him up, I was so excited, bouncing in my seat. It got to the point where my mom told me to quit or she'd smack me. I knew she wasn't being serious, she hadn't lied a single hand on me since I was born, so I laughed softly, but forced myself to settle down a little as to not annoy everyone around me.
When we got there and checked in, the doctor instantly recognized me and smiled, waving us back to see him and take him home. We walked into a big room with cages and such and I saw Hwang in one of the smaller cages, as he was a smaller dog.
As soon as he saw me, he started jumping up and down against the cage, barking excitedly, but still putting little to no weight on that back leg.
"Hi, buddy!" I said to him and knelt down, letting him sniff me and lick my hand lightly. The doctor opened the cage and the little white dog flung himself at me, shaking from excitement against my chest as I cradled him closer. It was the cutest dog I'd ever seen and now he was mine.
"He's all good to go. I'll give you some pain killers and his antibiotics. They're just pills, you can wrap them in cheese and give them to him or something, easy peasy," the doctor told us and I smiled, picking up the small dog with a huge grin.
I couldn't wait to show Hyunjin. I'd told him about Hwang and he was interested to meet the dog as it was named after him.
Good thing he'd be able to see him later. Hyunjin said he would be coming over at around fiveish and Hwang would finally be home and comfortable by then.
Speaking of Hyunjin, me and him had been hanging out a lot more lately. We were honestly getting closer and he was opening up to me a little more, key word being little. There was still so much I didn't know about him, like how he bitched about a cheating dude on this TV show and when I asked him, he went silent. Or why he hates that one guy, who he said was named Kris or something like that.
But all in due time. He still didn't know that much about me either and I wouldn't push our friendship like that. It would develop over time, I was sure of it.
When we got home, I sat Hwang on the ground lightly and watched as he sniffed around, going straight for the little food bowl that I had put out for him and eating the kibble I had bought with my own money. Dogs were expensive, but he was so worth it.
