As I march back to the high school, I can nearly hear my heart pounding, my blood boiling with ice-cold passion. Any sadness or remorse than I previously had—the dark, suffocating depression that almost led me to end it all—was now completely gone. I don't feel a single bit of it.
Now, the only thing I have on my mind is revenge.
The end of class bell resonates throughout the building as I approach the school and students quickly start pouring out. As the courtyard fills with teenagers, I scan my eyes over the many faces in the crowd in search of one in particular. Someone who is in great need of some interrogation.
As soon as my eyes land on the tall, robust figure, I dart immediately towards him. Hunk is walking in the opposite direction of the buses, a dubious decision considering I know for a fact he lives down the street from Lance and I also know for a fact that Lance takes the bus home after school.
I narrow my eyes at him suspiciously as I watch him wander away from the crowd, a fly heading right towards the web.
As soon as he strolls past me, I swiftly lunge towards him, grabbing a handful of his shirt, before he can make it past me.
"Where. The fuck. Is he." I demand, feeling a fire blazing brightly in my chest.
Utter fear flickers through his round eyes as he stares down at me, clearly intimidated by me despite his much larger size.
"Wha- Who? Where is who?" Hunk stammers in a poor attempt to lie to my face. I can see right through him without even trying.
"You know perfectly well who, you idiot." I growl, yanking him down closer to force him to look me in the eye. I can see a bead of sweat begin to form at the top of his forehead and I can practically feel him quivering.
"Um," He gulps, averting his eyes away from mine. "Do you- do you mean Lance maybe?"
I ardently roll my eyes before jerking him down again. "Don't fucking play dumb with me. Of course I mean Lance!"
"Well, um," He murmurs, looking around as if searching for the answer somewhere in the air. "I'm not sure actually. He's probably just sick or something and had to stay home from school."
I'm fucking done with this.
I reel my arm back and, with as much strength as I could muster, hurtle my fist inside the side of his jaw, forcing him backwards as his hands fly up to tend to his fresh injury.
"What the hell, Keith?!" He squawks, ogling at me as if I was insane.
"Do you think I'm stupid?!" I scream, shoving myself closer to him again. "I know he's not home. I just checked!"
"Well, then, how am I supposed to-" I slug him in the other jaw before he can tell me another stupid fucking lie.
"Tell me where he is," I taunt, backing him up into the trunk of a thick oak tree, as I threatenly raise my fist again, "or I swear to god."
"Fine!" He finally gives up, cowardly protecting his face with his hands. "I'll tell you, just please don't hit me again!"
I let out a huff before lowering my hand to my side, shooting him an expectant scowl.
"He's- he's staying with his sister at her apartment. I don't know why, though. Something about him not feeling safe." He sputters, eyes peeled wide with panicked pleading, as he anxiously wipes away the blood that's beginning to seep from his mouth. "That's all I know, I promise! He refused to tell me anything else!"
"Hm," Is all I say as I stare down at the man's pitiful state. Weakened, injured, afraid, begging. Such a depressing image, yet so easy to reduce him to. Only took a couple of punches. Huh. Almost makes me feel sorry for the guy.
I give the poor bastard one last look before turning on my feet and leaving him to wallow away in his own pain and self-pity.
Guys, you'll never believe it. I have an update, crazy right? Even crazier?? I have the last chapter written! Get yourself buckled up because this is gonna be a crazy ride!
