As soon as you walk out my door, I'm gonna call a hundred times

Veronica McClain. That's the name of his sister, the oldest one, that is. She's the only one with her own apartment as of now and easily Lance's closest sibling. If he supposedly "doesn't feel safe," —or whatever bullshit he told Hunk— he would definitely go to Veronica.

As soon as I got the information I needed from Lance's pathetic excuse for a best friend, I quickly started back towards the McClain household. There must be some kind of info on where Veronica lives somewhere in that house. Any reasonable, loving family, should at least have that, I would think.

I break into the house with my stolen key and immediately dart towards the kitchen. Maybe there's an address book or something like that somewhere in the room that could lead me to her. That could lead me to where she's hiding him.

I dig through the drawers, sort through all the many papers pinned to the bulletin board, but come out with nothing of use. What kind of family is this? Do they really not have their daughter's address anywhere? Bullshit!

I let out a frustrated groan, roughly running my fingers through my hair before my eyes land on the answer, sitting right in plain sight.

A cell phone. I goddamn fucking cell phone sitting right there in front of me on the kitchen counter, still plugged into its goddamn charger.

I can't help but release a laugh.

What moron left their fucking phone at their fucking house in the middle of the fucking day?

I grab the phone from the counter, unplugging it from the wall, and press the power button. When the screen turns on, I instantly feel an unwelcome pang in the core of my chest. As I stare down at the phone, five youthful faces stare back at me, all of them sharing the same wide, toothy smile that I loved so much in Lance.

This must be Mrs. McClain's phone, adorning a photo of all her children as kids as her screensaver. She keeps those kids with her at all times by having them right on the front of her phone, an item that is supposed to always be no further away than her back pocket.

It's a shame the dumb bitch left it behind.

I unlocked the phone with ease, since clearly she decided not to secure it with a password. Typical of someone as careless and scatterbrained as she seems to be.

I quickly found the address under Veronica's contact information and hastily scribbled it down on the nearest piece of paper in reach.

This is too easy.

Serenity Square is the apartment complex where she lives. I know where that is. It's not even that far. Only a 15 minute bus ride into town. If I can make it to the nearest bus stop and catch the Red line, I can be there in no time. In no time, I can finally find Lance. I can finally find both the savior and destroyer of my life and I can finally do what needed to be done so very long ago.
