If you don't answer, I'll just use the key that I copied 'cause I really need to see you
The moment I end the call, I immediately spring up to my feet and hurry my way over to his house. My legs eagerly move me forward until I am almost running, my continuously growing desperation to see him pushing me to go faster. I just cannot take this any longer. The agonizing time that we have already been apart has been absolutely destroying me.
I feel my heart flutter with a familiar warmth as his home comes into view and a joyful grin pulls at the corners of my lips just at the mere sight of the beautiful place. I release a heavy sigh of relief before rushing up to the doorstep and instantly pushing a finger into the doorbell.
But, even a good minute or so after I hear the ringing sound echo throughout the small house, I receive nothing but the atrocious, endless, infuriating sound of silence. The smile that had previously rested on my face quickly contorted into a disgruntled grimace as the fleeting spurt of happiness that I had been momentarily granted is immediately ripped away from me just as quickly as it had come.
"Lance!" I cry out as I ring the bell again, this time rigorously holding my finger down onto the small, round button to elongate the ding-dong melody for several long seconds.
After hearing nothing, I ring the doorbell again. And then I ring it again. And again. And keep ringing the doorbell until I lose count of how many times I've rung the damn thing and a round indent forms in the center of my index fingertip.
"Dammit, Lance!" I growl in annoyance when the lack of response is continued despite my persistent ringing and calling. I am unable to resist the urge to kick my foot forcefully into the door, only slightly regretting the small indentation in the red-painted wood that it created. "Lance, open the door!"
I rape my fist heavily against the thick, wooden door, knocking uproariously as the hope that I had slowly begun to drain out of me the longer I was left with not a single hint of an answer.
Why isn't he answering? Is he ignoring me? He has to be home, doesn't he? If he's not at school and Hunk doesn't know where he is, where else could he be? He has to be here! I need to know where my fricking Lance is!
I quickly dig my hand into my jacket pocket and pulled it out with the house key that I had swiped from his house the other day when I had visited him. I knew that I would need it at some point, in case of some emergency, and it appears that I was right. I didn't want it to have to come to this, but he has left me no choice. If he won't open the door, then I'll just have to do it myself.
I push the key into the lock and hear the satisfying noise of it clicking into place. Without letting a second go to waste, I push the door open and eagerly rush into the front room, immediately darting my eyes around the area in search of a familiar face.
"Lance?" I call out as I wander throughout the house, searching and scanning over every single corner and crevice of the room for my beloved before feverishly rushing around throughout the small house in search of him. I look in every room I can possibly find, barging through any and all doors, peeking behind every single piece of furniture, inside every single closet or cabinet, underneath every single bed or table.
But no matter where I looked, no matter how hard I tried, no matter how desperately I called his name, Lance, the love of my life, was nowhere to be found.
I honestly have no excuses anymore for my long-ass update times, I'm just bad at this ig lol. Hope you enjoy this little chapter! More to come at some point!
