ShadowQueen Chapter 3: Sweet Dream or a Beautiful Nightmare...

The day following their pleasure filled reunion, Samdi decides to treat Regina to a very special day. Her birthday is soon approaching so why not. Samdi knows Regina. Knows what she likes, what she doesn't like, what she enjoys and things she'd prefer to do. With that knowledge, he lays out the itinerary for the day: Purchase a nice dress and shoes for her to wear for the occasion and have them sent to her home, take her shopping in the most lavish boutiques, catch the afternoon performance of Phantom of the Opera showing at 5th Avenue Theatre, then take her to eat at that really nice jazz restaurant near the harbor and finally treat her to a moonlit walk on the pier before ending their night on his private yacht.

He sets everything in order starting with sending a beautiful above the knee, geometric fabric cutout black dress and matching black Christian Louboutin stilettos to be delivered to her door. When there's a buzz from her doorbell Regina goes to answer unsure of who it may be. She answers to be met by a delivery person with a large red box with a black bow and a letter attached. The letter reads "Regina my love, I hope you enjoy this small gift on this your soon to be birthday. Expect my driver to arrive to pick you up in two hours. See you then my love." She opens the box thoroughly confused snatching off the box top and surrounding wrapping tissue. Once she sees it she is immediately floored, "oh my goodness... this is... wow! Well... the man does have good taste." Excitedly anxious she showers, dresses and does her hair and makeup in record time. Within the hour, she hears a buzz at her door and quickly answers revealing Samdi's driver holding the door of a dark black Mercedes with red leather interior. She is then driven to Samdi's apartment building where a very well dress Baron Samdi awaits. When the driver opens the door and she gets out Samdi is stricken by her beauty "Regina my dear you look divine." "Thank you" she replies in slight blush, "are you ready to head out my dear?" he asks "absolutely" Regina says in return.

They then do everything Samdi had planned for her from shopping all the way to dinner. Samdi holds the door for her as she exits their diner spot "after you my love" "thank you kindly my dear" she replies in soft tones. Once they are outside Samdi takes his coat and covers Regina's nearly bare arms to keep her warm against the cool Seattle nighttime breeze. The geometric fabric cut outs of the arms, shoulders and chest of her black above the knees dress agreed with the midafternoon warmth however, following shopping a play and dinner the temperatures dropped significantly with the lowering of the sun. That's Seattle weather for you.

"Baron my love, that dinner was exquisite... And the band playing our song made the night even more special." "A special night for my very special lady" he smoothly retorts. This night is more than special, it's one he'd been planning for years. Not the festivities but the occasion. He planned the festivities from the dress, to shopping to the play to dinner and the stroll they are now taking along the Bell Harbor Marina that day. But the occasion, making the night as eventful as possible to set the mood to ask a question that'll change their lives forever, he's planned for years just waiting for the perfect timing. This is it, the perfect timing and he won't allow anything get in his way. If she'll allow him, he will make her his wife.

She smiles at him with bright, shinning eyes, stops walking cups his face with her free hand kisses him and says in very sweet tones "I love you". His heart now warmed says in return "I love you too my dear... so very much." The wind blows quickly across them making Regina shiver. "Let's continue to walk my love, we must get you some place warm" he says caringly "your arms are warm enough my dear" she says all smiles as he wraps his arms around her. "Mmm..." he says looking down at her returning a smile "...that they may be, yet and still, I'd like to get you out of this nighttime air. We can't have the birthday girl sick, now can we?" "I suppose not" she says and chuckles before hooking her arm back in his to continue their walk down the marina to where his yacht awaits.
