(Y/N)'s POV
I sat down on the relaxing leather couch, letting out a long sigh. (Fucking alliteration, thanks English teacher) Sun shone in through the window next to the tv and you could see dust particles in the air. I shifted my position on the furniture so one arm was on my forehead. A hum from the sounds of the city outside could be heard. It was a beautiful day outside in Inkopilis, barely any clouds and no wind, and I was spending it inside. The tidy, organized apartment smelled like cinnamon. My free hand reached up to take my octo glasses off, putting them on the hardwood coffee table.
I was staying at my best friend's house for a few days. It was really boring back at home, so I packed up and decided to visit him! Sure it was uncalled for and I didn't tell him, but that doesn't matter! He loves it when I come over, so staying for a couple days should be even better! That is....if he'd come out of that room. I found out shortly after I walked in through the door that he was signing up for a few tournaments. Which meant he had to do paperwork and shit. Boring.
"Stay Fresh!" Callie and Marie signed off, doing their signature pose, allowing a commercial for Mr. Grizz's Salmon Run to be seen. I wish he would take me to the square. It seems so much better than the plaza. A tired yawn escaped my mouth. "Duddeee, come sit down with me!" I called out, not bothering to move. I was too comfortable for that.
"Relax. I'm almost finished, you can wait until then." Army's deep, demanding voice rung out from his study. He spends most of his time there, writing in his manual. He really is nonstop.
Liar. He's nowhere near finished.
How Army and I came to be best friends is unknown to us both, but we didn't mind. We didn't really see eye to eye on most things. He's more uptight and get-to-it, while I'm relaxed and like to go with the flow. Nonetheless we're still besties, and I still like to stay at his house. We've been close for about a year now, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Even if we're not the most alike we still have a lot in common. Like curry! And, Aloha. I've been friends with Aloha for sooo long, I can't even remember how we first met! I basically grew up with him!
Knowing Army wouldn't be done soon, I silently stood from the comfortable couch. The wooden floor of the apartment creaked as I tiptoed to the room Army occupied. I brushed my hand against the cream walls. The door was already cracked open to reveal Army sitting quietly at a desk. His face was morphed into one of complete concentration. His orange eyes moved back and forth frequently, looking at the pages of his manual. He stopped once or twice to dip his pen in ink (..how does that work).
I opened the door a little further, to the point where I could just barely get in the room, praying to the Great Zapfish it didn't make any noise. Once I was satisfied I snuck in. If I made any noise I'd be splatted. It was quiet..too quiet in my opinion. Well, I could change that.
