Matt's POV
A/N: I thought it'll be a nice change to see someone else's point of view other than Tom's and Erin's.
"Rematch!" Adam exclaimed as he slammed the controller on the glass table. Adam lost yet another game of FIFA and because of his pride he doesn't want to admit defeat just yet.
"Just admit your defeat Tomlinson, you're not going to win!" I said in jest as I threw his controller at him and he caught it with ease.
"You've been playing all afternoon." Taylor huffed as she took a seat in the armchair.
"...and we're going to play until a I win." Adam declared as we refreshed the game.
"Just give it up dude, it's already 5-2 to me" I chuckled as I swivelled my body in time with my player on the screen.
"Give him a chance, Matt" Erin smiled brightly sending sweet glimmers to her eyes and bringing out her cute dimples. She perched on Taylor's armchair and focused her attention on the screen.
I couldn't help but stare and I knew I shouldn't let my eyes linger longer than the should. The way Erin smiled literally lit up the room and I loved the way that her emerald green eyes stand out from her dark hair and pale skin.
"Ha!" Adam gave a roar of triumph as he scored a goal shaking me off my reverie. He flashed a grin at me but when he noticed my thoughts running past my eyes like shadows he shook his head with a knowing look.
He raised his brows at me questioningly but deep down he knew what I was thinking about. I shrugged and he sighed before continuing with the game.
"Are you meeting Tom today, E?" Taylor asked and it piqued my curiosity.
"Yup." Erin grinned as she popped her 'p'
"He coming to pick you up?" Adam contributed without taking his attention from the game. I couldn't help but scoff and when they all looked at me I tried to disguise it with a cough.
"He said he'll be around in a bit. He's doing a training camp with two other divers, Chris and Jack" Erin replied as he fiddled with a loose curl that framed her slim face.
"His friends are so funny, and fit too!" Taylor gushed and it was Adam's turn to scoff at her statement. Erin laughed at Taylor's antics and nudge her.
"Chris and Jack are definitely the jokers of the group" Erin said fondly
"You having tea outside?" Adam asked.
"Depends who's turn is it to cook" Erin smirked.
"Hey! My cooking is not that bad" Taylor exclaimed as she feigned her innocence when it came to her cooking skills.
"Are you kidding? You can burn water" Erin retorted cheekily
"You can't burn water..." Taylor frowned
"Exactly!" Erin laughed her usual silver bells tinkling laugh that was contagious.
"I hate you." Taylor stuck her tongue out before joining in with the laughter.
"Ah! Tom's here" Taylor exclaimed and pointed as the diver's mini parked right outside the front room. He remained in the car as Erin started to make her way towards him. From the corner of my eyes I saw him flung his bag from the passenger seat to the back lazily before Erin opened the mini's door. Erin stepped in gracefully and gave him a quick peck on the lips before they drove off.
"They are so cute together!" Taylor sighed dreamily.
"How?" I blurted out before groaning when Adam scored yet another goal
"5-4!" Adam hollered
"They just are! And they balance each other out too. Tom is an outgoing and athletic guy and our Erin is a shy and intellectual girl." Taylor, the hopeless romantic, said.
"That still doesn't prove how they're cute together?" I scoffed. I've known Erin for nearly two years and yet when that Diver came along he managed to sweep her off her feet within a few days of meeting her.
"You wouldn't understand, you're a boy!" Taylor huffed and stalked off upstairs.
"How does he do it?" I asked as I cut the silence that enveloped the two off is after Taylor went upstairs.
"Do what?" Adam inquired as he concentrated on the game.
"I've known her for two years now and they've only known each other for what, 10 months!" I exclaimed in frustration.
"I dunno."
"You're useless."
"Erin looks so happy. I have never seen her so happy, have you?" Adam said seriously.
When we first met Erin, she was the quiet one of the group. She was shy and she was wary. For the first few weeks she would just keep to herself most of the time and smile politely when necessary. It took her a while to open up and yet I still have that small inkling of a feeling that she's holding something back.
"No. I didn't think you did. Tom's a good guy and he makes her happy. And they look like they're serious with each other." Adam continued as I remained silent.
"I still don't trust him." I scoffed. There is something about Tom that I did not like. He walks around like every body worship the ground he walks on just because he ended up to be a genius when it came to diving. Should diving be even considered as a sport? He's just jumping of a platform!
"He's got nine percent body fat and he's shagging the girl you fancy!" Adam laughed
"He better not be" I said darkly. I refused to think about the physical side of their relationship before it sets of my mind whirling with thoughts that shouldn't be there. It'll make my blood boil and swirl like red tide as it grows into my skin and make me green with envy.
"Dude, they've been going out for nearly a year. If they haven't done it yet Tom is either a closet bummer or he's patient as a saint. And I don't think he's neither one of those." Adam laughed a lot louder at me.
"I still don't trust him."
"Well you're going to have to wait a very long time because they look serious with each other. The only chance you're probably going to get is if he fucks up big time." Adam retorted as I just hummed my reply
"And I don't think Tom is someone that fucks up" Adam continued
"Everyone fucks up, sooner or later."
"That's true."
