Tom's POV
"Teeny is that you?" A female voice with a strong American accent exclaimed behind me as I idly made my way back to Erin and her friends with ice cream cones in my hands.
I didn't really intend to go so far away from them for the ice cream van was only a few feet away from the wall they were all perched on , but I decided to make a round trip back to the arcade to inform Tonia and the others where I was and on my way back I'd get an ice cream for both Erin and I since Erin dropped hers because of me when I snuck up on her.
Hell, I didn't even intend to hang around the beach for the afternoon but my arm was twisted (figuratively and literally! Tonia has one heck of a grip) when Andy declared halfway through cardio that our training session will be cut short because of a family issue. Anyway, that's all what Tonia and the others needed as an excuse to waste all their loose change in the arcade.
Stopping hastily on the pavement and looking over my shoulder as I heard one of my god awful nicknames that it seems I will never shake off, I saw a familiar girl stood a few feet away from me.
The girl tilted her head to the side with a slight confusion and as our eyes met a small smile crept up on my face.
"Kassidy!" I laughed when I finally recognised who she is. I hardly recognised her which was rather embarrassing since we've known each other for years through diving.
"Oh thank god! I thought it was someone else, I'd be so embarrassed if it wasnt you!" A sigh of relief and a giggle escaped Kassidy.
"What are you doing here?" I inquired as I side stepped to let someone walk past us since we were literally on the middle of the pavement.
"I'm here for the Women's 10metres this weekend, silly." She giggled as she copied my pose and leant against the metal barriers.
"Oh of course! I forgot." I exclaimed when I finally recalled Tonia twittering about a cancelled All-Women's competition a few weeks aback because of bad weather.
"So how is life treating you?" She smiled a bright smile as she her eyes once again met mine. She had lovely chocolate brown eyes that matched her long brown hair and tanned skin. They were bright, vibrant and they almost look like pools of liquid chocolate. Her personality definitely matches her eyes, sweet and humble.
She and I were not close, but we often see each other because of international competition. A small ghost of a smile crept up on my face as I recalled my small crush towards her a few years ago. I always seemed to be attracted to her but I never really mustered up the courage to ask her out.
"You love your American girls don't you Tommykins!" Tonia's annoying voice popped up in my brain from a conversation we once had. She knew about my crush on Kassidy a few years back and insisted that I should do something about it like I did with one of the American divers in the 2008 Olympics.
I never did.
She's a sweet girl and thankfully I am over that crush. Who needs an American diver when I have Erin.
Though they probably would understand diving a lot better than Erin ever could. Not that Erin isn't trying, bless her she puts up with my vigirous training schedule and me alwayd being away on competition nationally and internationally.
"Oh it's going great at the moment. Trying to get back down to earth after my bronze."I said in jest as I tried to sound as arrogantly as possible. We always had a running joke between the two of us about a time where I first won my gold internationally (that's around the time we met) and I was on a high about it. I would tell everyone about my medal, heck whether they were listening or not! I must have sounded like an arrogant prat that time.
"Not a gold though!" She threw her head back and laughed her contagious tinkling laugh.
"A bronnze is like gold, its just a different and darker colour 'tis all" I attempted the hurt-pout look but that only got her laughing even harder.
"It doesn't suit you Tommy, it certainly doesn't look attractive." She wiped her eyes to gert rid of the tears.
"I'll have you know I look attractive in whatever I do. I'm sexy and I know it!" I wiggled my eyesbrows at her suggestively as I knew she knows about the video we all managed to produce.
"You could have fooled me but all right then, I'll give you that one." She laughed
"Thank you. I knew no one could resist the Daley Charm" I casually dropped a small kiss on her cheek when she playfully smacked me on the shoulder. she laughed once more as I draped my arm over her shoulder and she returned the favour and placed her hand on the small of my back.
"So this is where you got to Thomas. We were wondering were you went?" A hard voice with a venomous bite said from behind us. Turning around I saw Erin stood behind us, with a hard expression that was very hard to read although her eyes betrayed all her emotions and in time I saw fire.
A jealous fire.
